Even if we accept "the purpose" of the act is as you say, nothing you raised impacts his ability to comply with the law. uncleglen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > expressed themselves with their over-privileged > verbosity at every opportunity. Wait... you think the Supreme Court can overturn an Act of Parliament?

  7. Westminster do charge for parking, it's ?1 a day, discounted if you buy a week/month/year. You'll need to take a CBT, should be just a day's training, cost about ?120 last time I did it, I can recommend Phoenix, their most local spot was out of Crystal Palace when I took my Mod 2. If you're planning on riding through winter you'll want some waterproof textile gear, even if you don't go full Gore-Tex to start with. Check insurance prices, that might put you off. I got a little 125 4 years ago, by the April a friend and I took the DAS, rode without L plates for another few months and I upgraded to a big bike when somebody t-boned me and wrote the little thing off... Definitely recommend it!

Without getting into the age old vandalism/graffiti debate, that's quite a stretch, the causality element is unclear https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broken_windows_theory

You call me a hypocrite, but I haven't used any of the insults you referred to. At least you have attempted to do some critical thinking on your own this time though. The three derisive comments I referred to were only your most recent "contributions" to this thread, and your whataboutery shows a complete inability to take responsibility for your own words, although I accept that a lot of them haven't been spouted as a result of any original thought on your part.

I was going to accuse you of arguing against a straw man, attacking a position or motive you have imagined rather than one anybody has actually taken. On reflection though it's unfair to even hold your post to that low standard, you're just regurgitating talking points. The debate was around civility in political discourse, but I suppose that would be of little interest to somebody whose 3 most recent posts in this thread refer to "remainiacs", "undemocratic bloody farce" and "treachery".

It seems strange that the referendum is often lauded as the largest democratic event by those that now shirk away from direct representation, preferring instead to conflate the Brexit issue with the public's opinion on Jeremy Corbyn. The linked article shows that the FPTP system would disenfranchise large swathes, if not the majority, of the electorate. The doublethink surrounding what counts as democracy extends to the sovereignty of parliament, the motivation to prorogue, the impact of prorogation, the importance of civil discourse... it's bewildering how people can display such blatant cognitive dissonance.
  13. Sorry to hear that, how did your insurance company end up getting involved, did the council/police contact them?
  14. Looks like it's been that way since at least 2012: https://goo.gl/maps/Z6CquQD1gEGKurED9

  16. I'm not sure that's a "dialect" you got into, perhaps you meant to say "pathetic ad hominem"?
  17. Loutwo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But interestingly no one mentions any of these > places in a specific thread about how great > Peckham is? The discussion was only derailed as far as opinions on Peckham's bars and restaurants, it didn't get a chance to take recommendations on independent stores. Peckhamplex did get a small look in before a bizarre film review from the 70s took that off course and we ended up with the unfathomable bleating about Margate. At least we're back on familiar ground with the usual "fictional pleasantries" these threads always devolve into.

  21. Might be a bit early to start worrying about Lordship Lane's curry house situation.
