  1. Really! It's true. They were in the East Dulwich cafe having breakfast when I was there Sunday...
  2. That's such a shame. Youre right, the roads here are quiet and there's no need to drive recklessly.
  3. They were very honest with me after I had wasted a lot of money needlessly prolonging the life of a very poorly animal with another veterinary practice. So although they may be pricey, they don't overcharge. They were also really kind and supportive.

I'm aiming to get one last Kevin Bacon there > soon! Noooo! That's heartbreaking news. It's my favourite of all the coffee shops around. And the coconut toast is to good for words. :(
  5. There are often no trains from East Dulwich at the weekend. The 40 is a necessary route. It should not be changed.
  6. Oops. Just been informed it's a cockatiel not a parrot...
  7. Sorry. Problems with photos, phone and forum....
  8. Spotted this little fella on Peckham rye common this after noon...
  9. It's true that sometimes teenagers are vile but I thought this was about adults that did not help or support the O.P. I'm very glad you did intervene JDR. Several years ago my daughter was attacked by a group if girls outside the station and not one adult stopped to help her.
  10. I think it's interesting that I see tonnes of pied wagtails in Deptford but I've never see one in East Dulwich or Peckham. Bird populations are clearly well confined. .
  11. Sweet chilli chicken enchiladas. Copied from a pub menu in Poole. We only ever make them with quorn!
  12. Do they still do coffee at the bar? I can never afford to eat there but the coffee used to be excellent and a bit of a Saturday treat...
  13. The dyslexia unit at Deptford Green is essentially defunct. It is currently without a manager and also changing over to ASD provision....
  14. Same at the Cherry Tree. Place can be almost empty but still you have to shout a conversation across the table. ..

I agree. I have been assured by Chris that events like this won't go ahead again but the situation yesterday was NOT dealt with and nothing was actually done to address it - they just let it play out. It should also be noted that this was the third weekend of noise, it was just much much worse this weekend a. Because as pointed out, it was raining last weekend and b. As the weeks have gone on, the event has been drumming up more interest
  16. I've also emailed the noise team. Suggest everyone who has had their day ruined do the same as I was told they are due back next weekend...
  17. I was told by the minders, earlier that the event would finish at 8.00pm and the council said to ring back if they didn't finish at that time.
  18. ...also the flyer says 2-8pm but it started at 12 midday. I'm pretty sure they don't have access to the club house unless they come out of the astro turf and walk round to the club and there are no toilets unless they've got port a loos...

  20. Yes it is land owned by the club. They're using the astroturf and are renting it from Dulwich Hamlet. Please email Chris@dulwichhamletfc.co.uk if you're affected. The council have just been round to see me and they tell me there are quite a few of these events planned which is the direct opposite of what the guys at the astroturf said so clearly they can't be depended on to be truthful....
  21. I've been over see what's going on. There are two guys in hi-vis vests on the gate. They told me it's a "sound clash" essentially a competition between different sound systems or who is the loudest. There were quite a few vans and cars there, some with systems in the back and some with systems on the roof. These guys told me the event will finish at eight, which has been true in the past. They also told me it was an annual thing - just once a year, which is clearly untrue. They also said they have a council permit to make noise - I don't even know if that's a thing?
  22. I've experienced this a couple of times. The events don't go on late at all but the level of noise is truly excessive. I actually don't mind the volume but the bass or reverberations, whatever you call it is so invasive it was making glasses in my house rattle and shake. After a couple of hours the constant vibration was actually making me feel sick - it felt like turbulence or motion sickness. I did look up the number for noise complaints but thing is, every so often it would go quiet for about 15 minutes so I didn't call, then just when you thought they were done, it started up again..
  23. I'm interested too....
  24. Thanks folks!
  25. Hi I've come home to find there's absolutely no water from any of the taps. Does anyone else in se22 have an issue or is it just me?
