  15. Our next book is: 10 minutes 38 seconds in this strange world, by Elif Shafak. It's about a sex worker in Instanbul dying in a rubbish bin. 17. As I said earlier I was told by a pub manager it was because of "gypsy funeral". KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Other pubs being open though doesn?t > prove/disprove the driving reason for the > landlords who closed that day. > Some people are speculating racism, but I?d be > surprised if someone would willingly turn away > huge custom on that basis and I wonder whether > other considerations were at play.
  18. A pub manager told me it was because of a travelers funeral. Anti traveler bigotry-the last socially acceptable racism. Had it been a black or Asian or LGBT funeral that would have broken race relation law/anti discrimination law. Brideshead Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Well after much consideration my own personal > opinion is that the ?Gas Leak? single day > temporary closure, on the evidence, WAS a lie. > That is most likely because of plain & simple > discrimination against the Traveller Community. > > If I can be shown evidence from a gas engineer/ > fire brigade to the contrary, I?ll happily change > my opinion. > > That being said a business telling lies to the > public? looks like the new manager isn?t much > better. > > ?Gas leak? sounds a bit of a fake excuse. Why not > just say ?Temporary Closure. Apologies?? Why the > disrespectful silly lies? Makes you wonder what > else they?re up to, hey? what goes on out of > sight, before your drink &/or food gets brought > out. > 😱😱😱 eek!
  19. I was told by a pub manager the pubs were all closed because a traveller's funeral was taking place. Anti traveller bigotry-the last socially acceptable racism.
  20. I won?t be drawn into a ?whataboutism? argument. If you want to debate the rights and wrongs of Hamas then start your on thread. I hardly think the Guardian article could be described as propaganda.
  21. Phone the police and keep phoning them until they do something. You shouldn't have to put up with this crap. Or if you can find out who their employer is complain to them very loudly, they wont want the bad publicity. Please keep on at the police that's what they are there for. And create hell with the council.
  22. Our next film is Citizen Kane on Friday 6th May at 8.00pm in the Blake Room of the Clockhouse. All welcome. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizen_Kane
