Aggressive man - Peckham rye park
contented sow replied to contented sow's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I dialled 999 on Sunday morning when he pushed my friend in PR park and I witnessed him attacking others. I couldn?t stay but was told police were there looking for him. I don?t know the outcome (hence creating this thread) so I very much hope they?re aware there is serious concern. -
Aggressive man - Peckham rye park

I think it all happened before streatham and yes, police were called but I don?t know if they found him. -
Today a friend and I witnessed a man aggressively shouting at strangers, pushing them, chasing them - some solo parents with small, toddler age children. Friend was left really shaken when he approached her and pushed her really hard. We saw this approx 10am near the cafe / children?s playground (Sunday) I think the police were called but wondered if anyone had any background, updates or witnessed anything similar? Guy was maybe on his 20s or 30s, black, wearing black jacket with green hood. After years of living here, first time I?ve seen something that felt v. Scary during daylight hours in park filled with families.

Car broken into - what are they after?
contented sow replied to loubelou's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This happened to my friend - apparently they?re looking for the tracker which manufactures hide in totally random places in the car. If the thief finds it, they get rid of the tracker and steal the car. But if they can?t find it they just trash the car looking for it and move onto the next one. -
Dog walkers in Dulwich Park this morning.
contented sow posted a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
To the incredibly civilised looking women in the Dulwich Park cafe this morning around 9.45am. I think this was some kind of dog walking group as there were around 20 women in the cafe while aprox ten-15 dogs waited outside. Some dogs (three- four I think) were on leads, the others roamed around freely, one laying a giant turd under one of the picnic tables. Another begged at our feet, licking my two year old's hands and taking his breakfast from his hands as he sat. Although a sheet of clear glass separated this lovable pooch from it's owner, they stayed inside the cafe sipping their latte unannounced. As some of the group left the cafe talking about how they must now walk their dogs, I asked if our shaggy breakfast companion belonged to them. They quickly said no. Regardless I pointed out the early christmas present that Lassie had laid under the table and suggested the owner may want to clear this up so others could enjoy the area. They walked away (with dogs)with no further interaction. Two hours later I came back to the cafe (and not just on dog poo duty) and the incriminating turd was still laying in prize position ready for an unwitting heel/ child's hand to squid into it. OBVIOUSLY parks are there for everyone - parents, dog owners and all in-between. But if my two year old had whipped down his pants and laid a beast under their table while they were eating, (while I ignored him then left it)I suspect these women wouldn't have acted in quite the privileged, entitled way in which they responded to me today...please clean up after your dogs. It's not only an incredibly selfish, unsociable act, it also dangerous - and the conscious perpetrators are far too often those that have an air of social authority. Rant over. -
Toilet in the Peckham Rye Cafe

Pretty grim in there. Putting nappies in bins outside would be an excellent idea. Had the bins not all been removed... -
Trains just getting worse? What can we do?
contented sow replied to James's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There is a petition doing the rounds for commuters at catford / crofton park - campaigning to get rid of thameslink. Since it's built momentum my train (the 8.39 from Nunhead) has been near enough on time all week. This hasn't happened ALL YEAR. hoping they're related and people power is making a difference. Wishful thinking? -
Odd behaviour in GG playground
contented sow replied to contented sow's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We decided he was being so odd that we called The police yesterday. He was gone before they arrived and disappeared from ceramic cafe as they arrived...ultimately v odd. -
I've ummed and arred about posting this, but ultimately decided I should. On Friday afternoon I was in Goose Green playground with my children and some friends. There was a single man in his 20s/30s sitting on the bench next to the climbing frames and tunnels (so pointedly right into the play equipment) he had no children with him, I'm absolutely certain on this, and was drinking beer. He kept repositioning himself so, it felt to me, he could watch a specific group of kids play. He then moved to another bench (leaving glass beer bottle on ground) and had a cigarette. Still in boundaries of kids play area. At it's most innocent, his behaviour was just a bit inappropriate. Maybe he was on his lunch break and wanted to relax? But there are plenty of benches (that were free) outside the perimeters of the kids play area. We felt so uncomfortable we left (as did he) and he moved directly to a bench in the ceramics cafe which again was full of kids. He didn't buy anything and had gone five minutes later. I dont feel I should post a description as it may simply have been a naive and innocent thing to do. But the situation just reminded me I should be aware and, it somehow felt worth posting here.
