  1. JohnL, are you suggesting that you have a 'special set of skills?' DF I am sorry to hear this, and in such a quiet road, good thing you are tough.
  2. Saffron, don't fall down the rabbit hole !!!
  3. lavender, I see you have upgraded your reward to 3 cocktails ?! - perhaps change your heading to be more specific. I was hoping that someone (with a van) enterprising would offer this service even occasionally - he/she could have a cellar full of wine by the end of the year.

  5. Thank you rendelharris, : I have been 'allowed' through one morning at 9.30 for the Bedford Overground by a female station assistant, but the SlimController advises 'you will have to buy a ticket' - despite my observations that there is no point having a Freedom Pass if that was the case?! Apart from the mayhem of the sudden change of platform and two of us having to practically fireman's lift an elderly lady up 39? steps in order for her to catch our Dover Priory train, there is no announcement to say, this is the train which has been platform switched. This underlines the imperilment of passengers at this station, the volume of which has increased exponentially over the last five years. If you build it, they will come. Another practise which should be discouraged is that of people sitting on the steps, eating, talking, chilling, so that others are required to navigate around them, or even, stop half way whilst deep into conversation via their mobile phones, stopping dead in front of a hurrying would be passenger. Or parents with children in pushchairs carrying them down or up the steps, with adjacent toddler and scooter. Nerve wracking. I don't understand why the ramp does not extend to the platform, for those passengers who find stairs difficult or unmanageable and do not like lifts, this is an unhappy travel experience. KCH should have its own underpass.
  6. DKH is the only station which arbitrarily announces platform changes with 2 minutes to spare - and an officious employee who refuses to allow access to platforms to those of us with Freedom Passes
  7. An hour ago I stopped at Sainsbury Local, a shop we seldom use. I bought bagged carrots, parsnips, sprouts and thought at the time, what a peculiar smell hovers around this section. Ten minutes ago to enable dinner,I took the plastic bags from my shopper, and reeled, felt ill actually, the musty smell clung. Good thing we had frozen veg. One and only time this has occurred. Be aware.
  8. I see Godwin's Law is having an airing at last.

I am disappointed JoeLeg, as I am sure you are - never mind, at least you found an excuse/reason for popcorn and beer
  10. You're new here, aren't you.

  12. Lynne this is. not unusual although I am sorry to hear that you found out the hard way.
  13. They are springy! I have had one leap out of my bag and lost, it was possibly mine which you found. They are machine washable apparently.
  14. I just tried to photograph it - I look east and the sky is changing colour and density quickly, west the sky is steel grey and foreboding, very elemental, now having to switch the lamp on - and check on naughty Ophelia
  15. The Hepworth at Wakefield would soon sort you out, followed by a visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, sublime shop and wonderful satisfying restaurant, will soon make you forget the unprotected sculpture in the park, so long ago....

  17. how is this funny ? or is it people's misfortune, bad luck, dismay and undoubted distress which makes you laugh?

This road and others nearby do not exist solely for your convenience. I dare say, you will be legally parked, and 'entitled' but thoughtful and considerate clearly does not factor. nor your unnecessary and nasty put down of Pugwash's parking skills and helpful suggestions.
