I have always relied on the kindness of strangers I can eat 50 hard boiled eggs - in an hour I need a poster of Rita Hayworth -

I wondered this myself ... if a 6?4 rugby playing male had answered the door rather thana woman with a child , would they be so bullying and intimidating?

optimum washing machine
Elphinstone's Army replied to Elphinstone's Army's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Thank you DaveR, - that is interesting. I have been into JL and PJ to look, going in tomorrow with a list of requirements, quiet, low decibel rate is important as in a flat conversion with complaining neighbours. I will heed your good advice, thanks. -

Thank you Alex, - for your time posting with helpful remarks. The machine I favour is a Miele, good reviews on the JL website, and yes, entry level. -
optimum washing machine
Elphinstone's Army replied to Elphinstone's Army's topic in The Family Room Discussion
to add - has anyone bought a washer/dryer and regretted it, wishing they had bought separate machines or have had mechanical problems with either function? I have space for both machine so a single machine is not an imperative, but comments welcome thanks -

Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn Make him an offer he can't refuse I think we're gonna need a bigger boat there's no place like home You talkin' to me? I love the smell of napalm in the morning I've seen things you people wouldn't believe Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain - time to die -

hello, has anyone here recently bought a new washing machine, or could recommend one? I now have my granddaughter occasionally, so need a machine which can efficiently cope with small loads, with a 30 min wash, a variable temperature option, variable spin speed, and is quiet? I have done my research, on Which, and the JL site and others, but thought I would ask for genuine users comments and hope no one minds. Thank you !

lavender fear not, little Neo and his contemporaries will not be reading the EDF for a while. Neo is New and can be applied as a prefix to many nouns or as a moniker, economical, uncompromising, soft toned, stylish and popular in Sweden, where such characteristics are lauded -

I would be interested in any > outlet for buying dried pulses, nuts etc without > packaging. hb there is a lovely stall on the Saturday market at Crystal Palace in Haynes Lane which sells everything loose, and for those of you who have not yet discovered it, a feast for the senses. Marks and Spencer would be a good place to start. Three lots of packaging for four pears for example. In the olden days my Mum used to have a sturdy shopping bag : fruit and veg were weighed in brown paper bags, tossed and twizzled, smoothed out and reused, greaseproof paper for cheese, waxed paper for bacon, paper cones for dried fruit, far more aesthetically pleasing, fish and chips in a paper pouchette, newspaper, hugged close to the body on the way home. Milk in glass bottles, 'pop' in returnable bottles, leaf tea, then emptied onto the roses. Bring bag string bags, willow baskets, old fashioned baskets with raffia red flowers adorning, oilcloth bags, hessian, linen and cardboard boxes, to pack Shreddies, box Energen rolls, Huntley and Palmers Breakfast Biscuits, quarter of Ty Phoo tea, silver bag of Blue Mountain ground coffee, blue paper bag of demerara sugar, box Whitworth currants, roll of Chocolate Olivers, 3lb Homepride SR Flour, pkt Smash and a Vesta Beef Curry. -
Has anyone tried Rust-Oleum Chalky Furniture Pant fron B&Q with results they would like to share please. It is a curious title at odds with it's intention, but cheaper thn Annie Sloan paint. Thank you.

Well, that was hundreds of years ago and Dr Johnson would find his square and Fleet Street rather disagreeable nowadays, however his house is a temple of tranquility still What do you mean by ?rabid? ?

I know you said Hove - however have you looked at Folkestone? this is the town du jour, for artistic creative types with massive houses to enable studio space, visitors, beachand regular train to London which will diminish in importance as you settle. Having young children is the quickest surest means of meeting and spending time with contemporaries, sea air, trips to France, Canterbury, Margate and Whitstable, and more beds for your buck ! Good luck anyway, an update would be good

EE has a variable signal here and regular ?engineering works being carried out in the Nunhead area? and I regularly receive a backlog of emails and messages as soon as I reach higher ground. Poor reception here often as Malumbu says

Bedding/linen recycling
Elphinstone's Army replied to Geordie Dave's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
if it is fit only for recycling you could take a bag for life carrieror H and M bag into any H and M store for a ?5. voucher. You have to spend 25? in order to redeem this and only two bags at once but worth it when you purchase new bedding or indeed new clothes
