  1. the mechanics of voting are rudimentary and primitive : in our block we have mail and voting slips coming for tenants who have long gone. Certainly there should be something with an address and name on and pictorial identity, it is all so sloppy, I despair. But after all the rhetoric which has been forthcoming these last few weeks, surely we have all put our mark where our mouth is? how can there have been a low turnout? perhaps as I did, people will vote post work??? Eight minutes left to change our world

I thought at first it was tenuous, but there is no reason why it cannot be true? thanks.
  3. alice Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Always thought mr Jimmy was Jimmy hendrix hello Alice, I think perhaps we were meant to? but Hendrix lived in Mayfair on Brook Street, in a house formerly occupied by Handel. So I am not sure that if he was ill he would be standing in line in Chelsea, it's a bit of a bus ride, even allowing for artistic licence, but Steveo would know this. Where is he when you need him?
  4. well you didn't get my attention, I didn't even look
  5. Thank you for posting this - the spelling, grammar, syntax, split infinitives, and dull tone are not exactly dynamic. However, the gist is that nothing productive is being done by Wandle, The notion that somehow it is the resident's fault/responsibility/burden whether practically, fiscally or morally, to be utterly disingenuous. In the Spring magazine, Wandle picture and describe,l,000 new homes for south London. ready for 2021. at Grange Walk Bermondsey, 34 flats to rent and 22 for shared ownership, Valentine Place, 13 flats for rent and 6 for shared ownership. this can be seen on wandle.com/newhomes I realise the tenants want to stay in Peckham of course they do if they have chidren at school, or in fact, want to stay. But they are being disenfranchised, dismissed, sidelined, without being offered, as recompense for the upheaval, stress, inconvenience and imposition of indifference on the part of their landlords, Wandle, new accommodation in which they could at least be together. A forward completion time notwithstanding. Bearing in mind as someone pointed out earlier, there are no cracks showing yet in their current accommodation. Who can cut through the sheer bloody minded intransigence of all from the euphemistically described 'customer services' to the almost monstrous CEO Tracey Lees. There is another word I feel would describe the head of the fish but I fear is possibly libellous, usually involving lack of empathy.

Let it Bleed, wonderful stuff, remember the steel fronted Chelsea Drug Store, the Bach Choir and Madeline Bell singing backing, I suppose you know it was Delia Smith baked (and decorated) the cake?! Mr Jimmy was the guy playing the drums?
  8. Jah Lush, I swear it was deliberately provocative, in order to draw you out... I watched the clip thank you, the wonderful Madeline Kahn, well all of them, what a romp. Of course there is nothing preventing You from discussing it ?! Should I take it that you are not anxious, merely miffed disappointed yet equable? I will be drinking alone at this rate.
  9. Is anyone else feeling anxious/uncertain/nervous/trepidatious/concerned about the vote today, one way or the other? I am seriously considering two Kalms or maybe find the brandy I know is in the cupboard under the sink at the back in the corner. Which is pitiful really when I see the pictures of cars submerged, polling stations closed through flooding and trains cancelled and people wading through fords to vote. And I had only to walk 2 mins on damp pavement. I have enjoyed the debates, thank you, mostly reasoned arguments, passionately put, all thought provoking, some erudite, some not so much, all courteous, a credit to the Forum. I have 'You can't always get what you want' in my head, and have to believe the truth of the following line, but if you try sometime, you just might find, you get what you need...
  10. Whilst many comments are attempting to pin the tail on the donkey, this does not help the residents of Solomons Passage who will not be thrilled to receive the Wandle propaganda in the guise of a house magazine, the cover of which declares, '1,000 new homes - tackling south London's housing crisis' with an abject lack of irony, awareness or concern.

This appears to be the work of one person as the MO is identical, shared online. Details may not have been released in the traditional manner, but in this day and age this is irrelevant. As you will realise when a cats in both say, Perivale and Nunhead are killed and mutilated on the same night. As may well have happened. Whilst you are stuck with a 'one killer with a fast bike' intransigence then you are impeding a wider investigation.

Just a thought... Also, the Brighton example which you offered referred to many bins and covers : this solicitors sign is singular, and more easily dealt with ha ha ' maniacal laughter '

Just a thought... a fine sentiment displayed, however : see my earlier post : Glazer Delmar take instructions from landlords and not tenants. This was my seemingly tenuous link to the sign outside Londis, i.e. : when I asked at reception did the company deal with landlord/tenant disputes I was told, we work for the landlord. I am also a Wandle tenant, but not from Solomon's Passage, at my wit's end with them. And then spurned by my local solicitors; and despite Steveo's assumption that they will work for fiscal reward = ergo, the sign has to come down - see my logic and reasoning?

It was an alert as much as anything. Thank you for your reply, the sign will, I suspect, stay.
  18. go to bed and stop fretting, you have an early start tomorrow remember ! safe travels
  19. steveo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hung like a bee hello steveo, I will try to be gentle with you as you are young and foolish. You cannot have escaped the media coverage of this man, and must have absorbed at least a modicum of his influence on the world of sport, politics, entertainment, what a powerful presence he was. To be diminished by a puerile remark was unworthy and hope you feel well and truly admonished embarrassed and ultimately ashamed. A complex man, granted, and not necessarily a 'nice' man but one who made us all think and consider, the white man, the black man, he was a mirror to our feelings, prejudices, racial experience, and sterling entertainment whilst taking Michael Parkinson apart. He was close to Prince, they had a good rapport. We forgave him many things, for the fortitude and charisma he afforded, and sad that he has left us, a mighty presence in our midst, a bright light extinguished.

  22. This firm work for landlords but not tenants. On this premise alone I believe the sign should be removed.
  23. Article in the Guardian this morning on John the Unicorn under Gran Designs (sic)
  24. I thought you were telling us Frank's was open ?!
