  1. Hi Audrey, This might be a little too late, but we run radio/DJ parties for children where the kids actually DJ themselves. Would this be something your daughter might be interested in? We give a crash course for whoever wants to get behind the decks and the kids can rotate/we take over if they would prefer to dance. We also play games such as 'sounds like', Guess who, dance competitions etc. Our set up is a little different to typical DJs but our main emphasis is giving the children ownership of the event! Do let us know if this is something you might like to explore further! :) All the best, Zoe & Leon workshops@wordplayeducation.co.uk http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/
  2. Hello! If you're still looking for something fun to do, we are running an energetic DJ / sound workshop for children aged 4-8 at Space at 61 in Nunhead on Wed 11th at 11am. The kids will learn how to DJ, play giant guess who and take part in an experimental sound bath! You mentioned you would prefer drop-in activities, however you would need to book for this if interested - the details are here: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/events :)
  3. Thanks to all of you who gave us great feedback about our radio parties for children. If anyone else would like to meet up to discuss and share ideas, we are offering discounted birthday parties for all participants! Do get in touch if you have a birthday party coming up and are in need of some entertainment! Best Wishes, Zoe & Leon http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/
  4. Hello, We (Zoe & Leon) are looking for some willing parents of children aged 8-13(ish) to give us some feedback about birthday parties that we offer. We run radio drama making workshops, and we have just started running radio parties for children and would like some feedback about what parents actually want when they hire in entertainment for their children's parties or events. We are based in East Dulwich and would like to meet up with parents just to let you all know what we do and what the children get up to during one of our radio drama parties, and simply would like some feedback. We could kill two birds and meet at a local cafe and chat while we have tea and cake! If anyone fancies meeting, or would like to know more about what happens in a radio party, do get in touch! All the best, Zoe & Leon P.S Here is a link to our website if you fancy a browse: http://www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/
  5. Hello everyone! This is possibly a tenuous link, but we are Zoe & Leon from WordPlay, and we run Radio-Drama-Making-Workshops in East Dulwich and surrounding areas. Our next adult workshop (12th March) is all influenced by board games! I thought this might be just up your street! In groups, we challenge you to script a radio play (inspired by your favourite board game), then you pop into our pop-up radio studio and broadcast your radio play LIVE on air! This will also get recorded for you to listen back on our website. We provide various DIY sound effects - including rice, but also encourage people to make their own. Our Board Game Edition is being held at The Field - a community run space in New Cross this coming Saturday 12th March 7pm-9pm: The Field 385 Queens Road New Cross SE14 5HD I have attached a poster for the event for more details. If you fancy it, tickets need to be bought in advance - just so that we can keep an eye on numbers. Entry costs ?5 and you can get your ticket from our website www.wordplayeducation.co.uk/events or feel free to email us on workshops@wordplayeducation.co.uk to reserve your spot and pay on the door. Perhaps this might be nice for some of you to come together as a group? (We split groups into 4 people). BYOB and snacks if you get peckish! We hope to see (and hear) you there! All the best, Zoe & Leon
