  1. My wife went to pick up a few basic things this evening at 1930 hrs but noticed for information no toilet rolls or kitchen rolls. Yet again. Madness
  2. Exdulwicher, Many people have asked on the forum are you a resident of East Dulwich and its surrounds but you have never answered. You seem to have an agenda regarding all things motorised and are never short of the answer to people's postings. If you do not reside in the area why do you find it necessary to keep replying and commenting on what is a local residents problem. If it does not affect you why do you keep commenting? Its appears to me that you could be a plant. Many people like me do not need a phone and the cost to put a man on the moon. There are many people like me who do not need an APP to live perhaps the young should appreciate that. Please let us know where you really live and why you find it necessary if you are not a local to keep posting? If you do not live here how do you know what the daily problems are? Not being rude just interested.
  3. I just spent 35 minutes waiting for a non existent P13 in the rain and sleet and with 8 other people mostly OAP's Gave up and came home. I have not been able to do what I had to do by bus. Wont happen again I will use my car.
  4. "now I think they know that partial introduction often leads to quick demands for wider ones, so to save money in ther long run they try to see if support would be there in those circumstances. Sensible use of public money to be honest, rather than paying twice to ask the same question." More to the point is if they manufacture parking chaos people will have no option but to demand a CPZ. Southwark's master plan to generate yet more money and fines.
  5. One of the reasons that EDG is backed up is because they closed Champion Hill.
  6. How about the people that live around Sainsbury's, the housing estate surrounding the supermarket, to suddenly find coaches turning up and depositing hundreds of school children that the residents around Dulwich do not want. Shoppers who use the car park. Noise, and all associated things that are associated with school mass groups of children. We dont want the coaches, let some one else have them. Seems like a usual response of this forum.
  7. It does seem that replies to this thread do not comment on the reason the point spider69 made. Dulwich Park and other parks are now being priced out of use for many people. I know of people who have disabilities confirmed by medical consultants as inoperable and have rendered them mostly house bound who have had their blue badges cancelled after many many years after an outsourced Southwark Physio decided they were able to move when observed leaving the interview chair unaware of the pain this caused for days afterwards. I would suggest you contact the Southwark News and ask them to send you copies of the stories they have covered. Southwark, wipes their hands of any decision. Not our fault guv outsource says this. False claims for a badge cancel them. But parking these charges will affect many many people who cannot afford to pay these charges. Why is it so many people cannot see the damage being done to ordinary residents. I wont post any more on this as it is pointless. Just wait until Oct 2021 when 2.5 million cars are rendered useless and people will be really stuck.
  8. Blah Blah Your dislike of cars means you have missed the point that was made regarding parking charges in the post by spider69. A car to him and many others with similar problems is a necessity not a luxury. Read his posting again. You have more chance these days in winning the lottery than being approved for a blue badge.
  9. Turfite Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Wonder how much it cost them to build the access > ramp last year? Not them the Banks customers. Still we get no interest and they get 8/9/10% lending our money so why would they worry.
  10. From your forum name are you a resident of East Dulwich and its surrounds?
  11. Perhaps a comment posted earlier sums the whole fiasco up[: Spider69 "If I am honest I have more faith in a condom with the top cut off than Southwark and joined up thoughts. Lets see" Southwark have a plan, we do not know what it is but can guess. They want cars to disappear. God help us all
  12. Went to do weekly shop Friday 1330 hrs no delivery, shelfs empty. Dont think they really care anymore. Captive audience.
  13. Some while ago I seem to recall that Southwark, at great expense, employed overseas consultants to advise on the spine route, one way system and junctions around `Lyndhurst Road, Holly Grove and Bellenden Road and some surrounding roads. I cannot recall ever seeing a conclusion or plan appear from that. Is it Southwark's plan to issue more part TMO'S and slowly do what ever they want without any consulting anyone. Just lately it seems Southwark is issuing more and more plans one loses track. One should not lose sight of the fact that when all the road works and closures that took place just recently the one way system worked 100% with no problems. Although I agree that the junctions need to be altered to allow easy crossing. People may not like to hear but cycles only pass through for a very brief period in the morning and evening rush hours after that the roads are very quiet. Why the need to change? Has anyone got information on the above?
  14. As the old British habit of queuing is long dead, it will be the fittest and inconsiderate that will be able to change buses with out any problems. I doubt if TFL ever thought of this.
  15. Probably young children with IPhones and no experience but earth changing idea.
  16. Or perhaps there is not as much loose money sloshing around ED as people believe to keep eating out. Emperors clothes and all that
  17. When they did locate all services to Tooley Street they found the building was too small and so had to get a another building in New Cross. So Tooley Street was North and New Cross South. Many of the closed neighbourhood housing offices were sold off. Also I believe I read somewhere that Southwark is purchasing commercial properties for revenue. There does seem to be a large pot of money somewhere to be able to do this.
  18. With regard to the bollards can you please tell when they were erected?
  19. One should also remember that it was Southwark that put the traffic Isles in when they were never required because they were offered money so they took it. Residents were against it. Also it was Southwark that placed the parking spaces that close to the bollards causing the problems. Before the bollards there was never ever a problem When did Champion Hill become one of the most residential streets in South Southwark
  20. James Barber I dont think I have read such rubbish. How can this charge cover the cost of providing parking. The parking in Dulwich Park in its current form has been there since the beginning of time. It does not have a cost. It has been establish from years ago and has not been improved. It works. "But those vehicles journeys are made through streets leaving air pollution outside the parks." If this is the case why has Champion Hill been closed and traffic pushed through other streets. When there is no published results regarding pollution? Perhaps you could explain. Why not ban all vehicles from the road. and make everyone walk. "50% of Southwark homes have no access to cars and therefore currently subsiding costs to provide vehicle parking." How? Perhaps you should go back and read the post by spider69 earlier today, this is the true result and how it effects real people. Its true the area is becoming a middle class ghetto when only the well off will be welcome in the park. A question, will park staff that park in the carpark be charged this ?2 ph?
  21. Why are you now deciding what is an essential or non essential journey. Surely that is up to the person making the journey. You and others would not know the reason. When I last checked cars cannot drive in or around Dulwich Park, except for a few disabled people, the rest go from the main road to a car park and then not moving, hardly taking pollution, road noise and danger into the park.
  22. For anyone interested The Southwark News has published information regarding pollution in Southwark. It appears that Champion Hill did not have problems when the research was undertaken by Friends of the Earth. What research did Southwark base it action on.
  23. There was never any need to close champion Hill as the brief traffic early morning leaves the road clear. The problems caused by the closure are far reaching by the diversions that have to be made. There is a problem with the new set up and quite frankly your views on cars and cycling is so well documented it is pointless to have any conversation. What is the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. The picture listed shows that there is no problem.
