So every driver that has been caught out is in you words "There are many idiot drivers who speed and drive dangerously, does he blindly follow them?" As most of the posters on this thread have said you do not see the signs until it is to late. Think you need to grow up a bit.

No they all follow the whip and vote for who pays their salaries. Ask Cllrs for an explanation you never get a response.

Why are no cycle lanes being put in on East dulwich
rupert james replied to Jakido's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If you check back on the forum you will still there was a thread about Green Dale and cycle lanes. There is one already where hundreds of cyclists apparently use it everyday and that was why they closed of Champion Hill to traffic. Never seen more of a handful using it and you have to be careful if you are walking because some of them think they are on the Herne Hill cycle track. -
Perhaps ex Cllr Barber would like to answer as he is a resident on Champion Hill I believe and is in full support of this closure. When I enquired why Champion Hill was still closed I was told because of the LTN they had to extend the closure for another 18 months to take in new traffic flows.? As people have said they will not open this road again. It is a con.

A big thank you to the council pavement gritter guys

The road crossing the railway bridge between Grove Park SE5 and Chadwick Road is as it always does turning into a skating ring. As its on a hill press the brake and off you go onto other cars. The road passes over a railway bridge which acts like a deep freezer producing sheet ice which you have no idea is there until you are on it. Pavements are the same. -

Came up Camberwell Grove this morning with a film crew in full swing. If that is social distancing no wonder we have a problem. -

CPZ charges for non ULEZ compliant vehicles
rupert james replied to legalalien's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Apparently in another thread it was pointed out there is a vast untapped market north of the Watford Gap. Unfortunately the top price offered is 2np or below. Delivery is required for this price. They might even require a full tank of petrol. -
Foxy Thanks for putting this up. Having grown up in Sarf London and still here these films brought back great memories of happy times. Sad to see the Temple Bar is now a ? shop.

Received this today rang 20 seconds later, waited 45 minutes to be told no appointments. Told try Friday or next week. Again if they have appointments given, allocate to people and ring if they can make the time if not allocate to another on their required vaccination list. I cannot understand why this does not happen instead of winding people up. "Dear Patient, Please call the surgery to book your appointment. Kind regards, Administration" DMC 163-169 Crystal Palace Road London SE22 9EP T: 0208 693 2727 www.dmccrystalpalaceroad.co.uk

They are calling you when its your turn. However read the thread below. Most people understand and will do everything to help but not when this happens. "I received a text to call, got through and was no 32 to be answered. When through was told no appointments available all gone. You will have to wait to see when other appointments allocated, could give no indication when this would be. This despite being in the at risk class and emailed about appointments a week ago. Surely if you are contacting people these appointments should be already allocated and are only to be confirmed not to be told all gone. Does seem like potluck and needs the surgery to have some kind of workable system".

I have just spoken to a couple of people who received a call from DMC to ask if they would like to go to TJ for the jab. They said it came as a complete surprise, since having no underlying problems. They are however over 70 It does appear those that flagged up their need are being forgotten for some reason.
-
When I enquired last week due to my age and medical issues this was the auto message that came back. You do not need to contact the surgery regarding the vaccination. You will be notified when it is available for you. kind regards Administration DMC 163-169 Crystal Palace Road London SE22 9EP T: 0208 693 2727 www.dmccrystalpalaceroad.co.uk

Plea to dog owners in Dulwich Park
rupert james replied to alji's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
There really is not a problem apart from young parents who have to find something to moan at which does not fit into their ordered lifestyle. I have been using the park since I was born some 70 odd years years and it does seem that all these problems and other problems have appeared since the new residents appeared. Rather like people moving to the country, remarking how wonderful it all is and then wanting to change everything to their liking. Church bells, smells, cows etc come to mind. Dogs, people, children and parks have coexisted forever but now you have to follow new lifestyle rules. Oh for the days when people were able to live a life without others commenting on it and wanting to change everything The park has been in existence and worked for many many years so why is it suddenly not working in this new age, the rules of which I find confusing I do note that not much has been said about out of control children on moving objects and whether rules should be brought in to control them. If the odd playful dog jumps up in fun how many others do not? Children normally except the situation but it usually is parents that start a panic from experience. Coexist is the watchword. If owners know their dog has a problem keep them on a lead until it is safe to let them run not difficult -

I used to take my mother and her sister to sit and people watch in those those years. Times then were more mellow and consideration shown to all park users. Something I dont think would happen if cars were to be allowed to use as a cut through. Bad enough now with the lycra bandits. -

Can anybody remember when you could go to Dulwich Park when there were no problems? Seems to have changed when money invaded the area. -
How is Sainsburys this morning?
rupert james replied to spider69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Do the OAP'S and other with disabilities still have "set a side shopping hours" to allow them to shop or do they have to follow this madness? Have people tried at a certain age, getting on a bus, line up for a very long time, shop and line up to pay and then do the same thing on the way back. Or is it a case of the entitled and able saying "Tough" When ED was un-gentified it was a much nicer and considerate place. -

Thats good news no one has gone shopping. We will soon have the virus beaten. -
When the Belham was rebuilt as a school why did the Cllrs not factor in repairing and upgrading this building when the original works were first mooted and a budget worked on. It does seem strange that one of the Cllrs was responsible for children Services and this school and is now Cabinet member for this post in Southwark could not have seen this along with the other Cllrs. If this house was an integral building within the school footprint/caretakers house you would have thought this would have been on their agenda for repair and use. Nigellos's post does raise a sensible thought.

For those that live or pass through "Bellenden Village" be advised that Lyndhurst Way has now/being narrowed to 1 lane entry from Chadwick Road. A large permanent concrete construction has allocated yet another cycle lane into the mix. Others boroughs are taking out temporary barriers Southwark build expensive permanent lanes to make passage for the car more difficult. The one way system was put into place into 1989 and has worked without any problems even when Camberwell Grove was shut down on the bridge. Why the change now? How many people knew about this and have been informed or is this yet another lets slip in into place under Covid. Just how much has this cost?
