Hi all, A quick update on The Dulwich Diverter... We now have 117 backers (and almost ?1.3k of funding has come via the East Dulwich Forum) so a huge thanks to all who've backed us! We've already reached our minimum target (and we've still got 30 days to go) so all of the additional money will be invested into increased circulation and/or helping produce future editions, and keeping the project alive throughout 2016 and beyond. Hi Jane, Thank you for your kind words! Our first issue will come out on May 6th, which coincides with the start of this year's Dulwich Festival. Like The Peckham Peculiar, we will be stocked by local shops, pubs, bars and cafes - we hope to have around 100 stockists (if not more!). We'll make sure that we'll have an updated list of our stockists online (at http://dulwichdiverter.tumblr.com) - this information will be available from the weekend we come out. Finally, a quick update on our crowdfunding... So far, we've raised ?6,658 thanks to 98 generous backers! ?1,285 has come via the East Dulwich Forum so a huge thanks to all who've backed us! A huge thank you to all of our 67 backers so far! Earlier this morning, just 4.5 days after the campaign started, we hit our minimum target of ?5,000! Our running total currently stands at ?5,445 so we?re absolutely thrilled at the response. We?ve still got 54 days to go so any further money we raise, we will invest into increased circulation and/or helping produce future editions, and keeping the project alive throughout 2016 and beyond. Hi all, thank you for your comments. We're really glad to hear you like the sound of the paper! A huge thanks also to everyone who has contributed their hard-earned cash to the crowdfunding campaign so far. We've raised over ?800 since 8pm last night, which is way beyond our hopes and expectations! Bawdy-nan, thank you for your question. The concept behind the Dulwich paper is the same as The Peckham Peculiar, in that everyone who works on it does so in their spare time. We believe in paying all our regular contributors for their efforts, be it journalists, designers or photographers. Paying all our staff costs a fair bit of money and thanks to the advertising support we have, we essentially break even each issue. As a result, in order to launch a new paper we'll need to raise the initial cash to fund the start-up costs, which is why we've launched the Kickstarter campaign. If you'd like more of an idea of the type of stories we cover, you can check out the back issues of the PP here: http://issuu.com/peckhampeculiar We envisage that if we do manage to print The Dulwich Diverter, it will be very similar in the style of content. Hi all, We are the team behind The Peckham Peculiar, a free community newspaper for Peckham and Nunhead that launched in January 2014 after raising over ?5,000 on Kickstarter. Now, two years on, we hope to crowdfund the same amount again to print a sister title for the Dulwich area, covering East, West, North Dulwich and the Village. We are former residents of East Dulwich and currently live just 15 minutes away from Lordship Lane, so we know the area well. A number of our contributors live in SE22 and other parts of Dulwich. We are aware that a number of free magazines are already distributed locally, but we will be the only newspaper unique to the area and we hope we can offer something different.
