  1. Haven't done this journey before, any advice? It's for Monday afternoon.

I only found out because my landline phone provider told me, when I queried my bill. 0345 numbers are free, they replaced the 0845 numbers, and those replaced the 0870 numbers.

There is already an overlong message from Sir Bernard Hogan Howe at the beginning, so they might as well bother to mention the cost so you would know for next time. Heard him giving out the 101 number during an interview today.

  5. Had a look at the Police UK website. They craftily put the bit about charges at the bottom of the page. I have never looked at that website before. It does provide a link to non chargeable numbers, but I didn't see one for the Met.
  6. Vodaphone? I better tell my phone provider that.
  7. Don't you think it should say so at the beginning of the call? My telephone provider said that the police do profit from it. Isn't the emergency number free?
  8. I just found out that each call to 101 costs 15 pence. Did anyone else know that? It's considered a premium rate number. This is the non Emergency police number that we are encouraged to ring. The money goes to the police.
  9. I keep getting spam email from Federal Express, never open, just delete.
  10. A Waitrose would definitely bring more traffic and parking problems. East Finchley fought to keep out Waitrose for those reasons.
  11. Thank you.
  12. What time do they close?
  13. Hopefully some of them can be stopped, cautioned and fined. Then word would get around to the other cyclists.
  14. James, Can you confirm whether or not dog walkers need a license to walk dogs 'professionally' as in for money in Southwark parks etc. Also, how many are they allowed to walk?
  15. There will undoubtedly have been some palms crossed with silver.
  16. Awful, it's being reported on BBC London.

  18. Got two there yesterday, not expecting anymore as they are a summer item!
  19. Meal deal queue😁
  20. Also called Gypsy Creams. Used to be available in some of the selection boxes too. Have seen threads devoted to their disappearance. More chocolatey than Bourbons.
  21. The M&S in Finchley Road, NW11 has great staff and frequently offers samples of new products including drinks.
  22. Are they handing out snack samples?
  23. I pop my chequers in the post to First Direct, or go to HSBC Rye Lane - open until 5 pm.
