  1. TORO SR4 Super Recycler Lawn Mower Self propelled pull start petrol lawnmower I bought this mower new a few years back. Now, we’ve downsized and no longer have a big lawn to cut so I’m selling the Toro mower. Recoil start / Pull start start 4 wheeled machine Self propelled Briggs and Stratton engine Aluminium deck 53cm cutting width, the aluminium deck offers the highest quality of cut. An aluminium deck is far superior to a steel deck as it does not corrode. There are height adjusting levers providing variable cutting height from 25-114mm. I have looked after it well, serviced it regularly and have given it a good clean and service especially for the sale. I stripped down the carburettor, the fuel jets and emulsification tube were cleaned with carburettor cleaner, blown through and gaskets replaced as necessary during rebuild. I drained the oil (whilst engine was hot), flushed and replaced with new oil of the correct type. The fuel tank was flushed before filling with fresh unleaded petrol. A new spark plug has been fitted. A new air filter has been fitted. I have cleaned and sharpened the cutting blade. The recoil starter has been functionality tested, the 3mm nylon starter rope was also checked. A nick in it could have failed at any time so I have repaired the rope. The self-drive gearbox and pulley system all appear to work correctly. The large capacity grass box has never been used and is included. Power and excellent performance is provided by the mower’s Briggs & Stratton 675 Series™ ReadyStart® engine. Its Sens-a-Speed™ variable speed Autodrive system is another important benefit, adapting automatically to your walking pace, and operating at speeds between zero and 4.7mph. As can be seen from the photographs the mower is in very good condition. Naturally, because it’s been used it does come with cosmetic, age related scratches and paint chips, that do not affect the operation of the mower. Please examine the photos. I can send plenty more. COLLECTION PLEASE Collection is possible from South End of Dulwich – Langton Rise SE22 / Wood Vale SE23 BUT DELIVERY IS POSSIBLE Delivery Possible by arrangement
  2. A seamstress has retired and is selling a not much used Vintage Elna Supermatic Sewing Machine - Swiss Made. It dates from early 1970s I think. It comes complete with original metal storage case, instruction manual and several bits and pieces including various feet and cams. Unfortunately we can't find the foot pedal and mains electricity lead so we cannot test it. I did work when last used. Foot pedal and mains cable missing Horniman Area It's extremely heavy so delivery can be arranged after your inspection

  5. I think the sub Post Office closed in 2014 - my photo is dated 2015. There's a plaque high up on the wall calling the parade - Moore Park Terrace. Many. many years ago there was betting shop in the extreme left end premises too. The garage sometime in 2014.
  6. It seems to belong to someone with the initials J A I.
  7. Look for a "Share of Freehold". . . . . and maybe wait until this hysteria about beating the planned raised stamp duty date passes. It's happened before - folk rush in to beat the tax rise so the house prices rise and immediately drop back. PS Try Sydenham.
  8. Fully battery powered Tram ? / Buses ? / Trolley Buses ? at Crystal Palace apparently. https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/londons-bus-route-358-debuts-electric-buses-with-tram-inspired-design-77202/
  9. 192.com shows there is a Victoria Appleby in the road. I don't pay for the full 192.com package so can't advise any more.
  10. It's a Supra C500 Key safe. PS The instructions say to not fix it to a rendered wall as it's not guaranteed to be secure. Instead fix it directly to brickwork. So fortunately, hacking off the render may give you enough room to get a blade into the gap to cut the 4 screws https://thekeysafecompany.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/11000114715-supra-c500-pro-keysafe-installation-help
  11. Doubt if it's a scam - more likely a mistake by a messy contractor. Its a top quality key safe - there are cheaper ones available.
  12. But it seems you do get a live-in cook / kitchen hand / helper with the second house 😀.
  13. I will add my vote for Gdansk. Also, take to boat trip to the peninsula where WW2 broke out. The first WW2 action was here.
  14. Piles, piles and piles of fun 😀.
  15. Like I have been saying : Steer well clear - Lambeth Council refunded £1.5m to 'gagged' leaseholders https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cv22x59zlxzo
  16. https://www.structuralengineersouthlondon.com/ Howard Ruse is your man.
  17. Get a specialist structural engineer’s report and then try and get insurance or try to take over the existing owner’s insurance. I really don’t like the observation “ normal seasonal movement”. Clay soil expands when wet and shrinks when it dries. So you would expect garden walls, patios and the like to move up and down a bit between seasons - but not a house with adequately deep foundations.
  18. We’ve had our home insured with them for maybe 5 years now - always through a broker. Initially via Wesleyan (Finance ?) Insurance Brokers and currently via Adrian Flux. Renewal time is approaching so I’ll be giving all the brokers listed in this thread a chance.
  19. I used Adrian Flux Brokers - I got a decent quote (Watford Insurance Co.) and they didn't want a survey - just a declaration of no cracks etc.
  20. You’ll be fine - just don’t turn right (east) anywhere 😃
  21. Whatever research you do, however much you trust or don’t trust the estate agent, Southwark Council can suddenly hit you with a large surprise bill - and you can’t do a thing about it.
  22. You are right to be spooked. Please think carefully, and then think carefully again and then don’t buy it. For example maybe Google what’s currently happening with L&Q charges. https://www.theguardian.com/money/article/2024/may/13/lq-has-raised-my-flats-service-charge-by-41-i-cant-afford-it?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  23. There's still a few of us around who remember these: https://www.londonbusmuseum.com/shop/cravens-rt1493-on-route-63-to-honor-oak-a-brand-new-casting-from-efe/ Plenty more info here: https://londonbuses.co.uk/_routes/current/063.html
  24. Mayfly, the actual fibre optic cable terminates in the Openreach box inside your house. The cable cannot have sharp bends in it - only gentle curves. You will have a copper cable with several strands ( Cat5 or Cat6) running from the Openreach termination box to the router. The phones plug into the router - you can have extension wires pretty much as long as you want.
  25. If it helps: We had a good experience with the installation of BT Fibre into the house. There is a plastic box on the wall outside into which the incoming cable runs. They then drilled a hole through our 225mm thick solid brick wall and fitted the final white plastic box (which needs a power supply) on the inside of the wall neatly covering the hole. Our own CAT5 cable runs to our own choice of positioning of the router. As it happens, I ran my own cable under the floor myself before they arrived, but it can be clipped to the skirting board if you want. To save trouble, I'd do that and think about a neater wiring solution later at your own convenience,
