My favorite restaurant is Food For Friends on Prince Albert Street. It's a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, but don't let that put you off. They do fantastic food, and very nice alcoholic and non-alcohic cocktails! For children, I'd go to the Sealife centre, or under the Arches on the seafront. You could also try Volks Railway, although I'm not sure if it's open at the moment. If you do go, I hope you have a lovely time. I really miss Brighton now I'm in London. :-(
  2. Why are people always so negative? I come from and grew up in Brighton, and have never had a problem parking there. I tend to use the Church Street NCP, or the Trafalgar Street car park in the North Laines, they're cheaper and generally quieter than than the city centre ones. You could always get the train from Victoria. Druscilla's is brilliant fun! I spent many a happy day there in the school holidays! Particularly liked the meercat dome.
  3. Buses are being diverted through Peckham to Camberwell Green.
  4. Whooops, other thread started whilst I was typing this one....
  5. Just to let everyone know, Grove Vale is closed at Goose Green. Buses are being diverted through Peckham to Camberwell Green.
  6. I get the 185 almost everyday, and always say good morning and thank you to the driver when I get on or off the bus. Can't say I've ever heard a reply, just get a bemused look.
  7. I saw an articulated lorry having trouble getting round there a couple of days ago. It ended up driving up onto the wall to get round the roundabout.
  8. I use the south circular twice a week, to get to High Wycombe. It is as many say a nightmare during rush hour, because of this I leave at 6am and get to Wycombe by 7am.
  9. I do my shopping at DKH every week and have never had any problems. They always have what I want, although I do go during the week, so that may have some bearing on the better service and stocked shelves.
  10. If you happen to be the same person near me who has a skip with a sign on, could you please not leave stuff next to the skip so that it is over the dropped kerb for my driveway, as it is difficult to reverse in. Thank you.

  12. I always go round the south circular, Clapham, over Battersea Bridge, and past Earls Court. I believe this misses the congestion charge zone. That said, I only ever drive that way at 6am ish, so probably miss all the traffic.
  13. Hahaha, I shall keep that in mind if it happens again! Thank you for the excellent advice.
  14. Has finally stopped, after about 2 hours. Was interrupting my afternoon nap.
  15. Has been going on for well over half an hour now. Is there anything I can do?
  16. I'm going to give up chocolate and coke, like last year. Except this year I will actually try not to have them as opposed to every other year where I've made certain conditions around giving them up.....
  17. My boyfriend cleared our drive and the pavement outside today. I couldn't get back in the drive as it was so icy / steep. Not a good combination. The pavement on Overhill Road is like an ice rink still.
  18. I've had post on Overhill Road.
  19. I was working at the Herne today, I'm glad you liked your food. It was still busy when I finished at 7pm.
  20. My housemate walked to work today to Trafalgar Square. It took him about 1 1/2 hours. I was meant to be at uni in High Wycombe, not a chance of getting there. So I ended up at work, in a pub, which was madness.
  21. If you can get to where the pipes come up, shove some wire wool in the gap. The mice generally can't chew through it.....
  22. Haha, of course. Very 'organic'.
  23. Daisies in January? Must be the global warming.....

Michael Palaeologus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Nunhead provides cemetaries and a place to dump > asbestos. > Someone did actually dump asbestos outside my flat in Nunhead (before I moved to East Dulwich, which is much nicer btw). The council had to remove the rubbish bin to avoid it happening again.....
  25. I like it when people leave their trolleys with the ?1 still in, then you can make a bit of extra cash....
