Offering this well used mini garden greenhouse to a good home. Ideal for seedlings, hardening off and plants requiring lots of warmth, particularly if you only have a small space for growing. £40 only - original price was something like £500 3-4 years ago so this is an absolute bargain! You're welcome to come and take a look at this before taking it - but please no time wasters. I will not hold this for you whilst you are deciding, if there are others who want it. Dimensions: 1m wide 52cm deep 178cm high at the back 165cm high at the front (roof sloping to front) These are approx dimensions - my ground is not even so likely they are not 100% accurate. Features: Aluminium frame Toughened glass panels Sliding glass roof opening Sliding glass doors A two piece horizontal glass shelf divides the space into two (top and bottom), but can be removed to grow taller plants (e.g. tomatoes) 4 removable slatted metal shelves (2 deep, 2 shallow - staggered when fitted to maximise use of space) Hose attachment on the outside with a mister nozzle inside (never used so cannot vouch for it working) Misc: This is designed to be fixed to a fence/wall for support I've never fixed it in place and it's been very sturdy with a fence behind it - would not advise leaving it completely freestanding with space on every side in case it blows over Probably needs a bit of a clean - I will brush out any debris but you will have to clean it yourself if you think it's required All glass panels are easily removed I have 1 spare glass panel which I will also give you in case of any breakage Transportation: Ideally to be collected from SE22 9BG If you do not have access to appropriate transport I can help locally if you cover the cost of hiring a small van on an evening/weekend (zip van or other - I won't take responsibility for any breakage during transport) Would advise not taking apart the frame if possible (I may or may not be able to find assembly instructions) Can remove some/all of the glass and easily carry this through our house

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham - 2024 Edition

The new viet place also does solid bahn mi's to takeaway, made fresh to order but made quickly. £12 for their special bahn mi (only slightly cheaper for others) so pricey but nice to have a different kind of lunch/sandwich offering locally. -
They're supporting a youth charity/organisation that produces a magazine that they sell on the streets. I'm not 100% sure as I couldn't remember the name, but from quick bit of research it could be "Inside Success" who've had some bad press in the past for their tactics and handling of donations and have similar blue "uniform" and branding?

In Camberwell they have Saturday regular appointments as far as I know, but would expect they are maybe hard to come by! Saying that, we've had emergencies on other days where we had to just drop in at short notice and we've always been seen and treated well. From their website, looks like after hours is £219+. That sounds more than I recall but could have increased recently. If you look at reviews however, there are some people telling a totally different story as always!

We go with our dog to medivet Camberwell. They've been great for us. We've had plenty of regular appointments and a few emergency appointments both within the normal hours but also out of hours and not had a bad experience once. For the 24 hour service it is a rota of vets who are often coming in from other practices. Otherwise we often get seen by see the same small group of vets and nurses and they all seem qualified, professional and friendly. I can't say that prices sound very different to what people have reported from TNV and I think it's subjective, but we often come away surprised that it didn't cost more, so obviously wouldn't feel like they're ripping us off.

We checked it out yesterday. Our main courses were insanely good! 20% off all throughout Feb. It's the hidden spot where Slow Richies was. -
Yes I believe if the tin is half full they will take it to be reused, else they are happy for empty or dried out tins to be added to the big household waste container. To dry you just need to leave the lid off - it will take some time!

We have recently completed our kitchen refit with John/Top Marx. We contacted them at the start of the year on the strength of the recommendations here, knowing that our project wouldn't start until later in the year, but wasn't a problem. Gabi responds to every communication warmly and promptly, and quickly arranged a site visit from John to help us with our planning. As it was our first ever kitchen project it was really daunting, but John was happy to chat to us and answer questions and left us feeling so reassured. We got a very reasonable quote quickly and secured Top Marx for our dates within just a couple of weeks. If we would have had to wait for availability we would have, but we seemed to have got in early. Our old kitchen was ripped out on a weekend so trades could make a start on the Monday. We were pleased to still be able to use our own electrician, gas engineer etc. A delay with a plasterer wasn't an issue despite pushing things back by a week. Once fitting started John dealt amazingly with working in our tiny space, and all the issues related to our drastically wonky floors and walls. He built us an amazing boiler cupboard, to our own design/spec, despite it being more work than expected. John reiterated many times that giving us the kitchen we wanted was his top priority, and was generally a pleasure to have around to chat to. During the job John spoke about going to do bits and bobs on previous projects, and helping investigate issues in kitchens he had fitted (that we're not his fault). John will also be coming back to us soon to swap the dishwasher door (manufacturing fault). I have no doubt that if any other issues arise the after service will be exceptional 👌 Pictures attached (ikea frames, plykea doors, silestone worktop).

Aaron was able to fit us at short notice to plaster our kitchen when another plasterer let us down. As others said the finish is pretty exceptional, price was very reasonable and very nice guy. We won't hesitate to have him back for future jobs.

Haven't had to deal with underpinning but do have part freehold of a converted house. Am sure by now you are aware there is a huge premium for multi-dwelling buildings. - in my experience, up to 10 times the cost of insuring a regular house. It's ridiculous. I was told that insurers assume it is a letting and therefore increase prices to account for extra risk of owners not being there to spot issues before they are serious, unreliable tenants etc. Doesn't seem to matter if both owners actually live there. We are currently insured through https://www.towergateinsurance.co.uk who provide different kinds of "specialist" insurance so you may find them helpful. They were very easy to deal with to setup the policy, however I can't comment on how good they are when it comes to claims - like every insurer there are some bad reviews out there.

Thanks. I've been DM-d details.

Someone lost their dog in the park today (eventually found) and I heard that there's a local WhatsApp dog owners group that people use to ask for help when this kind of thing happens. This evening I also witnessed a man sprinting towards the park and across the busy crossroads in chase of a dog that had got loose. As a dog owner living few mins away from the park I'm keen to join the group in case the worst happens (to ask for help or offer help). Does anyone have the invite that they can share? I tried searching but wasn't able to find.

The old SE Cakery site on Upland Road is set to become an independent bakery, with a focus on UK sourced ingredients and sustainable farming practices. They're aiming to open in March. https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/help-open-erics-bakery-east-dulwich https://www.instagram.com/p/CmKaKnhIaSN/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Also had some work done by Peter after reading the above recommendations. We had a patio laid incorrectly and Peter came and fixed it for us. The quality of work was impressive, and was able to fit us in despite difficulties with the weather and his busy schedule.

Local plumber and gas engineer - Jafar - Portrait Plumbing
chris_i replied to jcarter2711's topic in Reviews
Cannot recommend Jafar enough - he's such a nice, honest and reliable guy, and such a pleasure to deal with. We've been refitting a cloakroom toilet and he came round to replace the sink. He always showed up at short notice, dealt with unexpected issues brilliantly, and despite the whole room taking ages to complete, meaning he had to wait a few months between the first and second fix, he didn't expect any payment till the end and left us feeling like our happiness was his number one priority. -
If anyone is missing having an artisan/hipster/whatever you want to call it style bakery in town, and you don't have bakery fatigue, an old milk float has been parked up on Zenoria Street on the last few Sundays, run by Dalston's The Dusty Knuckle bakery. They have bread, gourmet sandwiches, pastries and a few other products. Definitely worth having a look. Only there for an hour each Sunday, followed by a stop somewhere in Peckham rye park. https://www.thedustyknuckle.com/milk-float

We've just had Julian build a wardrobe into an alcove in our flat and are delighted with the results. Julian is a skilled carpenter with a friendly manner, and was happy to accommodate our requests and use his knowledge and experience to advise us on various details. We had an initial consultation but a lot was figured out on the job. Great to have such flexibility and also great value for money. Contact details are: Julian Richards 07931 520713

Can recommend the new bagel place, Boffs Bagel's on Choumert Rd, Peckham next to Miss Tapas. Stopped by today and we loved the breakfast bagel (avo, bacon and fried egg) and the fried chicken and pickles. Lovely and fresh.

Anyone having issues over the last few days? Am on Solway Road (Goose Green/Rye Common area) and have had connection drop outs every few hours since yesterday afternoon. It recovers pretty quickly but is annoying and the online service status shows no known issues. Can't find a way through to their live chat and am hold with the call centre.

Virgin Media Broadband down - ETA 10:05 22/5

Using a mobile hot spot is a good idea if you have unlimited mobile data. Otherwise if you're having a lot of conference calls or using other data heavy apps/processes you might find yourself running out pretty quickly! -

Am on Glengarry and also having the same issue. Online media have been reporting issues nationwide over the last few days so guess we might actually be lucky to be OK till now. -
Yama Momo are currently crowd funding to raise some money to reopen. Every "donation" gets an equivalent voucher to spend once they're open, and those greater than ?25 get a discount thrown in. Would be a shame to see them gone for good as they add variety to the offerings of the lane and do a pretty mean cocktail. Am not affiliated in any way. https://payitforward.london.gov.uk/yama-momo

Brick House Bread announced they aren't reopening

The top end of Glengarry Road (from the ED Grove junction) is currently closed. You can still gain access to the rest of the street via Thorncombe Road. Told by a police officer that unfortunately there's been a stabbing :(
