  1. Indeed, I wish I had known the telephone number to contact the London Group but now in phone. Will look up Eagle Heights as always wanted to fly a bird. Thank you
  2. Hi there - Out walking the dog in Peckham Rye Park earlier and met another walker trying to assist a bird being chased by the crows. Twice they got it down from the trees and trying to attack it but we followed and caught the bird. Sure its a peregrine falcon. It was covered to keep it calm and the person was then taking it to a rescue centre in Beckenham to see if it was ringed. The Rangers office was shut so we couldn't ask if any nesting in the area. I checked online and found this site in case any one finds themselves in the same situation: http://www.london-peregrine-partnership.org.uk/ If you have found a grounded/injured Peregrine in the London area please call 078 0773 8699. Thanks
  3. Lost by a neighbour so posting for him.. red compact camera, with new SD card and 2 batteries in it. Prob around Peckham Rye Park. Plus, I lost a dog lead on the Rye... one of those bungee like ones camouflage with soft woren handle and green/black/cream lead section. Thanks
  4. Ok - posting to all the wise parents out there as not one myself. My little (well 9 kgs) terrier has only 3 legs and just had a small operation on the remaining back paw. Can any one recommend a carrier which may be suitable for a dog? I have tried the only dog one but it's not comfortable to wear and thinking maybe a child one may be better. Please suggest and contact me if anyone selling one. Thanks
  5. Sorry to hear Nigel.. good luck and hope some of them get spotted.

There is equipment Pilates or cardio to pick from. And a good gym. Check out www.esph.co.uk if you join before Xmas you get a month free and a ?25 fitness voucher.
  8. Following on from the messages above one car covered in paint this morning on Dunstans Road... black gloss paint so I would echo don't leave paint on the street for people to take just in case this was opportunistic. If anyone sees a can in a bin or somewhere near upland road please drop a note on here just in case any fingerprints.
  9. Cheers Loz... yes unfort the charitable event turned a bit sour! Big expensive lesson for parents and participants.
  10. There was adequate passing spaces for predestrians as the green is adjacent and adequate pavement. I am not that irresponsible but unfort thought it was better to clear part of the road for passage (like many of the other drivers). Unfort many people parked to do a charitable event. Yes we have all been ignorant today in parking as we did and the Council have made a tidy profit. unfort I would have liked the money to have gone to the charities concerned than see the Council gaining a profit. I would like to see notices added to the area as in many spots people park partly off the road thinking that's safer. Will consult the online highway code now. Thanks
  11. Hello - I would like to say how typically calculating it feels that the Parking Services swopped on cars parked on Strakers Road earlier today (between 11-1240pm). Many people were attending a children's charity fun run around the round flower beds near the gates at the cafe end. The car park was full so people parked along both sides of Strakers Road. Unfortunately (we now have the knowledge) it is an offense to park with wheels over the kerb. Many of us checked that there were no parking notices to say it was an offence to park there but mounted the kerb to ensure adequate passage of cars on the road. What a mistake!!! I even asked someone on a bike with a Southwark jersey was it fine to park there and was told yes... but wasn't told ensure yopu don't think it is best to park bumped off the road on the kerb. In future make sure you park on the road and block any cars getting in and out of the park, particularly emergency services! Is that the position we should take. This is probably something that regularly occurs and Parking Services are taking advantage of the public in thinking it is better to make the road clear for passage. Instead of the day being a happy event to raise cash for needed charities we have all been out of pocket to the Council. I would urge that the Councillors lobby to add notices to the site to explain the parking regulations... there are no lines along the road at all and no notices to say it is an offence to mount the kerb. Preying on people's ignorance has meant that Parking Services have milked in a considerable revenue today which is ill spirited to those attempting to do good for others.

  15. Hi - one of the longest feline residents of Dunstans Road has given his last purr this morning. Lots of people would regularly stop down at 17 Dunstans Road to say hi to George the black and white cat. He made it to an estimated 18 years but unfort had a tumour and passed away this morning. Lyndsey his owner is going to make a donation to a local cat home in his honour. M
