  1. It was a lot earlier than that - I got up there about 3.15pm and it was closed then. In fact that was why I popped in here this morning to see if anyone could shed any light on it.
  2. Well, this is incredible news. I have told the Baron and he is beyond excited!
  3. I could have sworn I shared the lift with her at DMK station before Christmas and having seen this post can only assume I was right!
  4. Stradella Road runs between Dulwich Village and Herne Hill, so if it is correct that he is moving to that road, it would depend which end of the road it was. I was told by a friend with family living there that it's definitely Stradella Road
  5. This was such a shame as Fabian and Luis were doing a fabulous job. However, I have high hopes for Adam's Cafe - I popped in for coffee this afternoon and plan to road test breakfast on Thursday.
  6. I had just bored a bus outside the DIY shop by EDW station and, having sat down, gazed out the window to see the odd man known as Laurence Fox walking past. So I gave him the Nescafe Handshake.
  7. Codfellas in Bellenden Road are open for takeaways and Made of Dough, also in Bellenden, are offering a delivery service via Deliveroo.
  8. They were making children put the password in at the time of the robbery (which meant they could then change it)
  9. Apologies John - I have only just seen this. This sounds very much like the MO of a gang who have also been targeting children at the local private schools and stole the phone of the young son of a colleague. However, the same family whilst out the next week fortunately parked their car in a different location to usual, the gang was spotted, the Police called, and the four youths arrested. The word is that the youths were working for other, more experienced criminals who were using the stolen phones to obtain contacts, who were then sent phishing messages to obtain access to bank details. Sounds like a 21st century gang of Artful Dodgers working for Fagin.
  10. I think the disappearance of the binliners on the Bellenden stretch may have been to the recent high winds more than anything. I do wonder, though, what is the point of 9am - 11am? Seems a short space of time and won't stop parents from parking for the school pm pick up. Could have understood it if it were 7am-7pm daily
  11. It already works as a pub/dining room and Youngs are already spending money on a refurb
  12. I'd recommend 40 users change to the 35 at Camberwell Green. The service isn't usually too full to that point. If you change at E&C it'll be rammed
  13. There's another post about this so I'm locking this one - Admin http://news.met.police.uk/news/scavenging-by-wildlife-established-as-likely-cause-of-reported-cat-mutilations-323426 Let's hope that SNARL stop trying to scare people now.
  14. Last night, between 8pm and 8.30pm what I can only describe as a poison pen letter was put very quietly through our door making serious allegations about a nearby resident. The Baron and I weren't very sure whether these allegations were true (and if true should certainly be in the hands of the Police if they aren't already) or whether this person is the possible subject of a vendetta. Whilst the letter was vague about the date of offence committed (given as "some time ago"), it certainly wasn't vague about the alleged offence, identity of the perpetrator, their address, or their vehicle registration. I would be interested to learn if anyone else received one.
  15. I'm not sure whether I'm imagining things or not, but to compound our misery bus services back from the City in the evening seem to be getting worse (big gaps on the 40) and now the dot matrix at EDW station bus stop isn't supplying info.
  16. I was on the 07.30 yesterday. It was barely as busy as a normal morning. I was talking to Michelle, who runs the coffee stall outside the station, and she told me that it's absolutely dead around there and even when there are trains scheduled to run, it's quiet compared with normal (which my experience bore out). Most mornings, I've caught the bus. I think there are extra buses on the roads at the moment, and also it's worth noting traffic is quieter and people are starting to disappear on holidays, the exam season is over, and schools are about to break up.
  17. Laurence Fox was waiting for the train at ED Station. He was wearing awful red trousers - that was what caught my attention. I wonder if he's temporarily staying with his sister....
  18. Yes, apparently he's living in Peckham :)
  19. Saw Robert Glenister in the EDT a few weeks ago. Millhaven saw Richard Ayoade in the dry-cleaners a couple of months back.
  20. Let me guess - you were on Twitter looking for a siege update and stumbled on it? (That's what happened to me!) Very exciting. The boy and I shall no doubt partake of a graze there.
  21. Hope the Cherry Tree hasn't been torched. That would be tragic after such a successful refurb.
