  1. Is this in Alpine Dry Cleaners?
  2. Very busy when I've been in there but fast, great service and delicious food!
  3. Yeah, what's the world coming to when you can't even racially abuse someone or incite a riot on social media?
  4. It has been absolutely dreadful today. Planes started flying over the house at 6am at intervals of a couple of minutes. Seems to have started again this evening.
  5. Love Dulwich is excellent. Been in for breakfast a couple of times.
  6. Sorry I'm late to this topic but I will genuinely miss White Stuff, as they sold good quality sustainable clothes that are quite fashionable but forgiving for those of us over 40. I went in there before they closed and the only reason they were shutting was because of the exorbitant rent they were being charged.
  7. They are not called sick notes anymore- they are called Fitness to Work (Fit) notes
  8. Unfortunately that's the first thing one thinks of these days
  9. I don't know if the problem has been resolved since 9am, but first thing this morning M&S on Lordship Lane were not able to take card payment, only cash. This issue was compounded by the nearest cash machine at the P.O. being out of order. I also heard a number of M&S staff say that Sainsbury's at DKH were also unable to take card payments. I managed get some cash out of the Co-Op ATM in the end.
  10. Sorry I'm a bit late to this @BrendanC I do sympathise. I suspect that you aren't too far away from us - I did say to the Baron a few days ago that the plane noise appeared to be worse again and I particularly notice the planes flying over the rear of our home from the kitchen. I do hope you find a satisfactory solution and some peace soon 🙏
  11. So from £25 to £80 in the space of a few years to pay for a service we should actually be getting through our Council Tax.
  12. Sorry to hear that. I literally had one frozen item on the list and we can wait a week to replace it. I did get a text from them last night saying fridges were affected as well, but happily this turned out not to be the case.
  13. IIRC Snappy Snaps at Camberwell Green used to convert them
  14. I'd also recommend avoiding the Royal Albert Hall - £15 for a 250ml glass of red. 175ml is a bargain £13
  15. That is dreadful. Last Friday I received a letter regarding my x-ray appointment, which had taken place on Tuesday (luckily they had texted). Today I've received a fairly important hospital letter which I should have received two weeks ago, looking at the date on the letter.
  16. As what the baron would describe as a "blow in", I had no idea he started off here. Fascinating
  17. Agreed - they're very good
  18. I'm really sorry but if she's capable of doing that, she's not lovely. She's incredibly cruel.
  19. It's because of the smog we need ULEZ. The less pollution caused by traffic, the better the air quality.
  20. I think I'm going to have to close the windows
  21. Is anyone else aware of a burning, acrid smell in the air this morning? Is this coming from the fire? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66748968
  22. Didn't support Adam's Cafe very well, did they? (not myself and the Baron, we frequented it often)
  23. The last time I was in the Cherry Tree on a matchday, I asked a girl wearing a Hamlet scarf what the score of the match was (I'd been to Chelsea that day and went in to meet the Baron). She said she didn't know...
  24. I honestly felt really sorry for Adam and Cheffy over the Grove (aka Adam's Cafe). Food was really nice, as it was when it was Ciao. Poached is always busy but sometimes only a fry-up will do, especially if you're going out for the day.
  25. It was on in the Cherry Tree. The baron ended up watching it in there
