Hi, maybe you know someone or can spread the word? I am looking for a single parent who would be interested in sharing a rented house with me? I have lived in the past for 7+ years with another single mother in a 5 bed house in ED with all the financial savings and support that comes with this arrangement. And it's great for the kids. I would love to do it again and am wondering if there are any like-minded people out there? I am happy for a mum or a dad and am the mum of one fifteen year old. And there seems to be more 4/5 bed houses out there right now than 2 bed flats and it costs so much less. Anyway putting feelers out to find someone if anyone here can help. It's a common enough situation! Many thanks JC

I agree with you KidKruger. Unfortunately my LL does not. He thinks i am being difficult and that he has done his bit and if i don't want to let that workman in and deal with him then that is my choice. and the work won't get done. Anyway - thank you!

Thankyou everyone. the landlord employs an agency (of which he is a co-founder so a conflict of interest i think) and the agency says i have to have this guy. He then says things like 'you're not one of them are you?' when i ask him to distance or when i put on my own mask and is generally quite passive aggressive - down to I should be making him tea. Unfortunately he's hard to avoid when he is here because he doesn't do his job and i am constantly having to say things like 'that's not finished/fixed' or 'then when will it be finished/fixed' and if i don't make him cups of tea you can see how that doesn't go well - and i just want the work finished. I don't think landlord really cares. As far as he is concerned he has sent someone in. I feel really stuck.

HI My landlord keeps sending me a workman who won't wear a mask, wash his hands or socially distance and keeps insisting on cups of tea. I need some work done but do i really have to put up with this? He's says he's exempt but i don't believe him. I've asked to see the exemption and it's not forthcoming. But even with an exemption surely a workman who can't wear a mask isn't the right workman to be sent into people's homes at this time? I would really appreciate some advice Thank you!

Random doorbell ringing? (Melbourne Grove area)
JickieC replied to PSJ's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
my desk is in the front bay window where i can see the doorstep. Twice in the last few months i've been working there and the doorbell has gone off by itself. I reckon the same as Katanita - same frequency as someone else. -

Hi I'm in Sydenham and my friend is in ED. It's her birthday tomorrow and I'd love to get something delivered to her. Even just a token. Are any local businesses doing anything (within social distancing guidelines of course) - flowers, cake, a plant, a coffee and a slice of cake, a g and t? Just wondering - grateful for any thoughts (my father had a pint of Guinness delivered to him in rural Ireland yesterday out of the back of a van - courtesy of his local boozer!)

There is a southwark council van sitting on Muschamp running its engine for over an hour - with the headlights and windscreen wipers on and no sign of a driver. It's over heating too and the fumes are horrible. Any ideas what to do?

Can anyone tell me why it always seems impossible to get to London Bridge from PR station on a Saturday? If it is works then it is a LONG time. It seems particularly problematic now that the 40 no longer goes to LB. As our nearest hub LB is starting to feel a bit like a Shangri La! (Anyone got any good travel tips with fewest changes? Out of PR or ED) Thanks
