  1. It's so obvious that it's a money making scheme for the local council, it's almost like entrapment! Literally inviting people to park there: a nice shady lay-by, loads of room, totally off of the road...only to get slapped with a nice greedy fine.
  2. if you want, I bet sports direct on rye lane have loads ;)

    Bin woes

we have three in ours, and each week the green and blue one is completely full, so very useful. IMO its better than the old black bin bags being torn up by the foxes strewn all over the place. And people are way to lazy to walk to the end of the street in this country, it would end up like Naples.

  5. thanks for all the ideas, does the flying pig have big screens? doesnt have to strictly be a pub though :)
  6. Going out for a mates birthday, and don't wanna be caught up in the rugby that's going on. I'm looking for a pub that wont be showing the it this Saturday (19th) within East Dulwich/Peckham...any ideas?
  7. That is rubbish, so sorry to hear about your bikes being stolen. I think I'll be avoiding leaving mine about at the moment, seems there have been a few of these in this area. Thankyou for the heads up.

    Uber

brilliant service, and also affordable. The phone application is great too, showing you where the cab is etc. Have no idea why politicians hate it so much, I guess for the above reasons.
  9. sounds like a good plan (not that I've read it all yet). Will be nice to get that stench that's regularly there sorted out too.
  10. wow, I had no idea people actually manage to hit/impale themselves on these things.
  11. Being a regular receiver of records in the post, I can't state enough how much better a proper mailer with card stiffeners are compared to some make it yourself ones. Use 'Fragile' tape too, and write all over it that it's not to bent! I have lots of record mailers that you are welcome to and am just off of bellenden road if that's near you?
  12. It's a shame they have to move it, great PO and usually pretty busy.

  14. third episode was very strange with the lizard man! Was very funny though!!
  15. See it all the time and have a chuckle to myself/shake head etc. Essentially if you have to hit the brakes when driving anytime, not just for speed bumps, then you have used more fuel than you needed to get to that point. I'm not talking about accidents/emergency stops and yes I do drive!
  16. yes it's a great idea, I've seen on the website there are older films being shown in various locations (taxi driver for example!)
  17. Even though I don't use this one, I hope it stays open because the one I go to on Highshore road is always packed and that'll only get worse if this happens!
  18. Looks awesome, will send this about my university climbing society.
  19. interested how?
  20. Personally I haven't bought a paper ticket from a ticket office in ages, but at Peckham Rye I do see people using it quite often. The only thing I'd be concerned about is having more ticket machines, and staff to help manage it. Only having two there is stupid, come Monday morning where the queue is out the door for oyster topups etc.

In Paris, Brussels, many cities in Germany and some in America cyclists are allowed to do this. I'm not saying that it justifies what people do in London, especially at busier roads where there are cars and pedestrians everywhere. But more frustrated that it's even viewed as a crime and something to 'shake a fist at' on the small junctions where no harm is caused is caution is used.

If there are people about I just alight, cross the junction like the rest of the pedestrians when the green man is on (not blocking or bumping anyone), and hop back on. But then I've had people shout at me for that too!
  23. I always wondered how long that would last anyway, given that it's essentially a coffee shop on in massive venue.
