Thanks for the advice. Our neighbors don't look after their garden so it's a jungle, perfect for a fox den in and we have a couple cubs that are definitely not scared of us. They were cute for a while, until they started ruining my garden and continuously digging up my runner beans and other plants I'm trying to grow. Now it's war haha (obviously not literally).

Depends on the purity of the ethanol to be honest. We use it all the time in the lab to clean BK7/fused silica lenses, silver mirrors etc which is 99.9% pure, but then we also have two types of less pure for general cleaning like glassware and tables etc. Same goes for methanol (don't drink that though!). You'd need to see the (sealed) bottle to know cus labs can be well slack at just topping things up and mixing them up.

There's a lady that does it near mine, but stands there and waits for the cats to be done and then clears up the rest. Fair play to her, cus the owner of the cats has completely neglected them since they were kittens/doesn't give a fuck. They were left outside on the doorstep when they were probably less that a month old in the coldest part of winter to fend for themselves and basically live under parked cars now.

Received and set mine off already!

So glad I rarely have to get the public transport in London; especially the trains as they are shockingly bad at peak times.

sounds awesome!

what exactly is that? Edit: after a bit of a search I found out! Pretty cool idea.

If you lived by that attitude you'd never go outside without breathing apparatus! I'm pretty sure the health benefits from running/cycling outweighs the negative effects from pollution. Other factors like a shorter time in traffic because you are moving quicker may come into play etc.

If I don't cycle, I sometimes run in to work in South Ken (~10k) and is a great way to get the weekly mileage up and start of the day. As Jeremy said I perform a ritual called "showering" before I get to my desk (as does literally every other person I know who does it); so actually probably fresher than the people traveling in on the sweaty, humid, and overcrowded peasant wagons Southeastern and Southern provide ;)

^from what I can make out they just did a blanket ban on the garden at all times without considering that the day time shoudl'nt be a problem anyway. Hopefully this can get resolved; it would be silly if the afternoon use is still banned.

I'm pretty sure I remember the tiles just falling off, but I could be wrong...

Right next to The Prince Albert this morning was a people carrier/ford galaxy type thing that had crashed into the wall right next to Paul's Custom Cycles and I guess just left. No police tape or owt... Wasn't there when I cycled back from work at 2130, but was when I went this morning at 0700. Hopefully no one hurt!

There's already plenty of places to get coffee on rye lane/the area. Bobs cafe, motown cafe in station, that new one that's a sort of 'vintage' shop, that greasy spoon opposite station entrance, the place next to honest burger with no name etc etc. They are all within a 10 metre walk of the station! And down that way you have Gregs. I personally am not fussed either way but it would be a shame to see all those other ones go.

those look great! Voted for you.

Interested in cycle to work in the City?
dirac replied to jonsuissy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'll be working in Blackfriars from July. Once I scope out the shower facilities and the logistics of doing a suit and tie job as well as cycling I'd be up for joining the cycletrain! Currently cycling to south ken, and found a great route just as I'm leaving after 4 years; local knowledge would have helped a lot in the first place ha. -

Got the same problem here too. I think they have eaten two of three packs of poison: all went quiet for a bit now they seem to be back. Always avoiding the actual traps, but surely the consumption of poison must start working soon? Can hear them all night in between the floor boards.

Never had a problem with them really, but didn't know the bit about aphids/blackfly. Will look even more fondly on them when my runner beans are infested with blackfly ha.

Thanks for the heads up on this; I'll be heading down to this for my girlfriends birthday now!

I'm on danby st and the cars fly up it like it's a race course. The fact there's a school at the bottom now seems to not affect it; and the speed bumps are useless because you can probably straddle them in a smartcar. I have no sympathy for people caught speeding, even if the camera is in a 'sneaky' place.

Think about how much paper is printed with Labour and Conservative details when put in the daily papers/metro/standard etc. Speculate to accumulate I suppose.

I'd be interested to play snooker down there. Also do you show the matches on tv, given the world championships is on? Thanks

on a side note, Melange does really really nice hot chocolate. So thick you could probably stand a spoon up in it.
