  1. You can appoint a proxy to vote for you in person Huggers
  2. Good luck Steve, this looks like an interesting venture. Fox I thought you would have liked this. There are offers in the magazine at each of your favourite curry houses in Lordship Lane.
  3. Theboycj, that is very helpful. Seeing how much longer the list of untrustworthy self interested (and occasionally currupt) people there ar in favour of remain compare to the very short list of of rogues on the other side has persuaded me to vote out.
  4. Penguin, you say this isn't one of the important causes to espouse in ED in the context of Solomon's Passage but I think the two are intrinsically linked. If Southwark Council employees pick and choose which bits of the law relating to planning and buildings that they personally wish to enforce, and have the chutzpah to tell an elected councillor so, then it's no surprise that it starts with an illegal billboard and ends with an unsafe building. All of these laws are in place for a reason and Sotuhwark's job is to implement and administer them, not choose which bits they like and which they don't.
  5. James's objection to the licensing application makes a lot more sense in light of his report that the council planning team have said to him personally they won't do anything about the breach of planning law by the adverts/sign on north cross road.
  6. The other swimming pool nearby is already public property managed privately. After decades of public private finance this project would be a mere splinter of the thick end of the wedge.
  7. Do the opening hours correlate to the hours at which they are allowed to do deliveries? Presumably they could have deliveries as late or early as they like even when the shop is closed?
  8. Would that be possible without also applying to vary the planning permission?
  9. It doesn't appeal to non-blow-ins though, going by the original post
  10. Apart from the ten thousand pounds already spent and the thirty odd thousand pounds still to be spent. I wonder how families stuck in temporary accomodation waiting on Southwark's housing list feel about the cleaner safer greener impact of this scheme.
  11. I think the weekly one is a 5k. Maybe you could try to get round twice in the same as the slowest one lapper?
  12. But precedent is only set where the circumstances are effectively identical. These two proposed developments are easily distinguishable and the council should be making such assessments without fear or favour.
  13. If the council are too gutless to turn this down just because they're obliged to approve another development that may or may not impact some people involved with the council, then the electorate should dismiss those councillors they feel are responsible at the first opportunity.
  14. I wonder whether the people that started all of this even actually still live in Melbourne Grove. The Melbourne Grove Traffic Action Group seems to have completely disappeared.
  15. Presumably there are going to be ten metres of double yellows at every junction soon anyway so why the need to spend 32,000 more?
  16. " The money would be used to develop plans and apply to Lambeth council for planning permission." 😳
  17. I can't imagine there will be anywehere near enough finanical support to keep a 50m outdoor pool heated and open year round.
  18. If they are new there should be ten year NHBC certificates and insurance?
  19. After reading this I noticed a camera on the lampost at the corner of Crawthew Grove and Lrodship Lane, pointing straight at the yellow box by East Dulwich Grove. It doesn't appear no streetview (dated April 2015) so must be relatively new. Maybe this is Southwark's way of financing their water bill repayments?
  20. What on earth were they thinking? I also dread to think how much this has cost taxpayers in legal fees. What a shower.
  21. Ten metres is not the standard. I'm sure James will clarify.
  22. Sure... https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/safety-and-security/road-safety/london-collision?intcmp=33888
  23. Wow that's quite a lot of easy money. The car collision map shows no accidents involving pedestrians at that crossing so this cash cow only solves a problem that doesn't exist.
  24. Relevant GLA ward names are 1. Peckham 2. The Lane 3. Peckham Rye which run north to south from (1) St George's Way to Peckham High Street, (2) Peckham High St to ED Rd / Nunhead Lane, and (3) from there all the way down to Honor Oak Park. West of The Lane is South Camberwell and west of Pckham Rye is East Dulwich. There is a useful thread on boundaries here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,445983,449852
