  1. Is the suggestion that Walter M might be connected to Gail's?
  2. Im quite intrigued by the Jose Aldo thread but dare not click on the link.
  3. I think this is a great idea. I only wish they would extend to try to ctach all the filthy dog owners who don't clean up their animals' excrement that blights so many pavements around here.
  4. "Much of what he did was anyway nothing to do with party, and everything to do with constituent need." I think this is why there are so many messages of thanks on his thread. Other Labour councillors in London who apparently found themselves in conflict on local issues with Momentum's political views seemed to end up in a very unpleasant place indeed: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-42909757. We'll have to wait to see what Mr McAsh can achieve.
  5. Good morning James. I am so sorry to read the results of the local elections this morning. You have done a huge amount for East Dulwich over the years and it will be a huge loss for the community without you fighting our corner. I only hope your succesor will put in a fraction of the effort you have over the years. Thanks for all you have achieved and best wishes for the future
  6. Of course because he was elected on the absurd undeliverable promise that he would freeze ll tfl fares for 4 years. He didn't explain that he would half deliver tbat by slashing services.
  7. It has happened all over SE London. https://853london.com/2017/11/08/stealth-bus-cuts-start-to-bite-in-se-london-route-89-is-latest-target/ Shame we Khan't do anything about it on Thursday!
  8. I got a smashing glass splashback delivered from b and q and stuck it on myself using no more nails. It looks fantastic and has been on the wall for five years now with no problems.
  9. They will always come back because a lot if people feed them. That's why there are so many in the city.
  10. I think incidents like this are a real shame for responsible dog owners because the inevitable consequence is more draconian restrictions and enforcement of dog owners using parks. If all dog owners respected the rules of public places, picked up their dogs excrement and trained their dogs properly in the first place, then there would be a lot less of the sort of antagonism and distrust that is evident in this thread between dog owners and other people.
  11. "Can we take 5 minutes to suggest it's replacement? Please, be uninhibited, we are open to fantasy or pragmatism ..." A bowling alley. It's what Lordship Lane is missing most.
  12. I would guess that as well as those working in the schools, a number of parents of school children drive to school drop their kids off and then walk to the station. Also there maybe a number of local residents who normally park here who have gone away for school holidays in their cars. Those affected by a CPZ will have to park outside someone else's house during the window it operates in. More of a problem for commuters than staff, I would think, unless its an all day CPZ .
  13. Given there are about 5 different schools on this so-called rat run I would guess that is the major factor. Unfortunately it seems to be encouraging bicyclists even more than usual to run the red lights and turn right illegally at the adys / crystal palace / east dulwich road crossroads.
  14. I think these landlords will get a wake up call very soon. There are a number of shops that have been unlet for some significant time (Jaflong, the cook shop etc) that closed due to rent increases and meanwhile the big chains like Jamie Oliver, Byron etc are negotiating huge rent decreases following CVAs and their landlords are bending over just to keep a tenant in.
  15. "Posted by James Barber Today, 11:35AM Many thanks for the 189 respondents so far before we've widely advertised this" You could have just written, emailed or texted them personally with their data you now have. You are going to be writing to the survey respondents about non CPZ lib dem stuff anyway now arent you?
  16. James is this survey really an alterntive to public consultation? The council could implement a CPZ on the back of replies to a lib dem survey monkey poll posted on the EDF without further ado? I think that must be balls, frankly, and this looks to me like a cynical data harvesting exercise for your party to spam respondents.
  17. You could be one of the joggers Ive seen! I think that route must be the cleanest and greenest while still being quite djrect.
  18. 1. Some people with children but not dogs also own and use the park 2. There is dog drinking trough by the public loos which is more than adequate provision.
  19. I am now going to apply for a CPZ in my road after discovering this week that someone has broken a light on my car and driven off without leaving a note. Our road is often busy but the cars that are always here (i.e. our neighbours) park considerately. So I conclude it was someone from outside the area that has caused hundreds of pounds of damage to my car without leaving their details and a CPZ will stop that halpening again.
  20. They've moved out now, but I used to walk past a house on my way to the station where every day the mum would leave a bin the space outside her house as she went off to do the school run. If I'd lived in the road and it affected me I'd have moved the bin back into their garden every day. But I didn't, and it didn't so I didn't!
  21. You are complaining that the service in our area is awful compared to sw London, but in your own words the only service that was running normally today was the service that is sxclusively on offer at East Dulwich. All the other services you complain about pass through stations in other areas and go to west, south west or north london.
  22. Whenever I have done this I follow the same route I cycle... From london bridge down weston street then across tower bridge road, follow willow walk to burgess park, round the pond to surrey linear canal park and then in peckham cross to bellenden road. Its generally quite busy with other joggers and cyclists. I dont like to do it in the dark though !
  23. No doubt they are the very same people who go to Lordship Lane just to look at the people eating out in restaurants (who themselves are there only to be seen by other people). Them, and the people who go out blocking the pavement while they count the number of people queueing up at the cheeses shop. Enraging!
  24. It looks like a vacant lot from a bomb drop when you look at it from google earth. There must have been a couple of house on that site at some point in the past before it became a carpark. Seems right to re develop it as residential, especially given how we are constantly bombarded with news of a housing crisis.
  25. But everyone will have a much more enjoyable experience when it is finally finished?
