  1. segregated and all ticket? Are Woking a bit lary ?
  2. Charging motorists is a good way... https://www.southwark.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy-and-transport-policy/transport-planning?chapter=2 The council charged motorists ?15m last year making a ?6m profit out of them.
  3. Well that and the ?125 per car per annum, plus parking tickt and pay and display income the council will gouge from constituents and their visitors.
  4. Two sentences stick out from that very lengthy essay above. " Its purpose was always to identify ...a controlled parking zone and implement it..."" This is entriely unsurprising. "I do not have the full figures available to me so I cannot work out the exact statistics" This is ought to be utterly embarrassing.
  5. Yes very cynical of them to say "no majority" (i.e. less than 50% for any 1 option) when the most popular option is blindingly obvious.
  6. A lot of the numbers used to jsutify the conlcusino don't even make sense. "Responses (569 in total) from 33 streets around Melbourne Grove were analysed to determine if there was enough support from respondents here. ... Officers have analysed the difference in responses north and south of East Dulwich Grove for the Melbourne Grove area. The results show that we received the majority of responses from the south (50) with 35 from the north. "
  7. Yes, it means a vast amount of traffic diverted onto the southwark spine route.
  8. James will the council be publishing the full results of the consultation as well as their selected highlights?
  9. I have no doubt that is the intention!
  10. In the whike of East Dulwich, these were the streets in favour: Derwent Grove Zenoria Street Tintagel Crescent Jarvis Road (!) Matham Grove Tell Grove Trossachs Tarbert Shawbury Road A small section of the housing estate north of EDG near Green Dale What would be least disruptive to the vast majority of residents who do not a CPZ would be simply to implement a CPZ in those streets that want it.
  11. The Peckham West recommmendation is a disgrace. Only 43% were in favour of a CPZ and they are implementing it anyway and that too will be Mon-fri 8.30 to 6.30.
  12. Yep it's pretty much every street west of Lordship lane as far as the Townley Road East Dulwich Grove Junction and all the way up to Grove Vale and it will be mon - fri 8,.30 to 6,30 Probably about one third of the total area consulted. The council must be thrilled.
  13. Hi James Do you know what is the proposed date for the council's announcement that the CPZ is going ahead please? And the implementation timetable after that? Many thanks
  14. Who is responsible for the upkeep of St Francis Park?
  15. My problem with Superdrug is not that it isn't gentrified enough for ED, but that it is too gentrified. It's post-gentrification blandness. For a start, who is even going to want to be seen to be in there? This sort of uniform identikit shop arriving is a very dangerous precedent for the rest of the just-about-gentrified-enough-now-thank-you high street.
  16. There is quite a lot of detail here. 230 new houses is still a huge development. http://www.championhillproposals.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Meadow-Dulwich-Exhibition-boards-web.pdf
  17. I like alpacas but I couldn't eat a whole one.
  18. Could you not just push it to the kerbside out of the way?
  19. The train services now are pretty good. If you remember the disastrous implementation of the last timetabling amendments it might make you think we should be grateful for what we have now !
  20. I think the eventual outcome of this is very positive. I like the signs and would like a few more.
  21. I think there must be too many dogs in London. So many posts on here about aggressive dogs attacking people or other beasts and the animals leaving excrement everywhere, it must be down to over-saturation of dogs in the area.
  22. Road closures and CPZs also put neighbours in conflict with each other.
  23. What all of these photos show is that absolutely no one has been encouraged to walk or cycle. Not one pedestrian or cyclist in all the pictures!
  24. "Throw in the council fast-tracking charging to park at the local parks and it is clear what the motive is here. " I think this is spot on. If they did implement the CPZ and there was still free parking in the parks it would be chaos. The two sets of restrictions go hand in hand and if one is a done deal so must be the other.
