  1. They have to pass it on otherwise they won't be able to claim it!
  2. I think so (but not for booze) and the restaurants will have to sign up to the scheme to claim the discount
  3. 2km each way on foot is a long, time-consuming journey for most people. Your only other answer to this is cycling which isn't satisfactory. There has to be viable public transport alternatives to get people out of cars but none of the Close-The-Roads! zealots ever address this
  4. Where will you spend your ?10pp 50% off vouchers??
  5. Haha that?s brilliant!
  6. rahrahrah Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This is ridiculous. At least you finally concede this won?t reduce car use and will simply push traffic elsewhere on a five minute diversion (generating additional pollution).
  7. Those ?5 to ?10 a can limited edition beers don?t even taste good. It?s real emperor?s new clothes territory.
  8. The last point is a good one. We must keep objecting to these proposals throughout the 18 month consultation period to counteract the inevitable concerted campaign form the various lobby groups and vested interests that will begin later on when they think we have all forgotten about this.
  9. Why is the council using those "Commonplace Digital Ltd" platforms for its surveys rather than the normal southwark.gov website?
  10. They are all residential roads though, just like the newly gated communities in Calton. Melborun etc
  11. Quite right too. They won't the NIMBYs from Melbourne Grove rat running down their road.
  12. Thanks for the warning Maybe the estate agent or the hair salon nearby have cctv iof that's helpful
  13. Those people who live there are now just rat runners. They should be forced to bicycle
  14. yes. There is no need (and never has been) to get within 1 metre of any one else at the recycling centre and restrictions on non essential business operating as usual ended weeks ago. It should be open in full, as should many other council services. We are still paying full whack for services that are not being provided.
  15. is this unusual for the summer? Would have thought this happens every year
  16. The roads are absolute chaos again already this morning.
  17. Such pathetic nonsense from our council once again. This service should be open unrestricted and in full.
  18. Hi James Pretty much every street in the ward is riddled with weeds growing out of the kerb stones and pavements. In some places it's long grass in others nettles, thistles and dandelions. The tomatoes are in Pellet Road I think. They were too green to eat but the plant will probably permanently damage the paving.
  19. I guess it wouldn't have given that all the schools are currently closed and so none of this traffic is school traffic
  20. Hell James Do you know when southwark proposes allowing street maintenance to start up again? On a walk this afternoon I noticed a lawn growing out of the tarmac in one road and on another a tomato vine with four or five actual plum tomatoes growing out of the pavement. I fear the eventual costs of fixing all the roads and footpaths is going to be phenonemenal if these weeds are allowed to continue rewilding our streets.
  21. Lol Crystal Palace Triangle is closed for road works ! Do you work in the council's traffic data team??
  22. So the same price as the raise table at the end of north cross road and not much more than the new road closures. They should do it. They put one outside the council offices on Tooley St. They should put some in here.
  23. The traffic looks dreadful right now on google maps. particularly along Dulwich Village and EDG
  24. It's too late to spend money on social distancing now. Lockdown has been and gone. It seems a bit dim though that the council would spend thousands of pounds on these storage facilities for a privileged few and then claim there is no cash left to help finance the bike hire stations that every other zone 2 borough in London seems to benefit from/.
