Im actually still quote blown away that the council feel able to ignore such an overwhelming response from their residents. Who do these arrogant ****s think they are supposed to be working for?
-
They are absolutley shameless. From their own consultation report "the majority of respondents opted for the response in each case that preferred to ?return it to the original state?. This is true both for residents inside the consultation zone..." And in spite of residents being in favour of returning all if the measures to their original state, they are keeping very single on of them in some shape or form What an appalling shower they are.
-
If they stick with the status quo, I hop that One Dulwich launch a political party in time for the May elections. They have more than enough supporters to drain the swamp.

Accident on lordship lane today around 4pm
Abe_froeman replied to sweetgirl's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think it's actually pretty stressful for drivers too especially if they aren't familiar with it. Cars turning right into EDG from southbound Lordship Lane swoop across the oncoming traffic to be beat the lights, cars heading North up Lordship Lane turn left onto EDDG from the straight on lane, there two yellow boxes to be mindful of and then it's very hard to know whether to let a pedestrian out into the path of an oncoming bicycle or car. -
Those restaurant based road closures are also completely outside the peak traffic levels around here They are 5pm to 11pm Mon to Fri and 12pm to 11pm at weekends.
-
Maybe those new businesses have had some assurance that the LTNs won't be there in the long term.
-
Yes, I think that would be the sensible thing to do if it was as dangerous as you suggest.
-
There's a pedestrian crossing at the end of the cycle-only filter lane. Next you eel so vulnerable there you might consider dismounting in the filter lane and crossing at the lights. you dismount here where the little bicycle picture is and walk to the traffic island where the green man is https://goo.gl/maps/m3aYWiQPv2wvfBLC7
-
That photo by March actually shows a cyclist sitting on their bike who has passed through the road closures and is waiting to pull out onto Dulwich Village. You might have missed it because the cyclist is on the wrong side of the road (naturally, the Highway Code is ignored by all cyclists) But still, it shows that there was no problem whatsoever for cyclists accessing Calton Avenu / Court Lane from DV on a bike. It also shows there was plenty of room to wait on a bicycle on Calton Avenue rather than in the traffic on the so-called "main road"

Southwark neighbourhood funding open for applications
Abe_froeman replied to legalalien's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks Legal Alien I'm sure our local councillors used to encourage people to apply for these! -
I'm sure raratrollrah has equal disdain for the teadance events that block the route for cyclists.
-
Yes it's perfectly clear that you tried to obfuscate from the terrible consequences for EDG of the LTNs after you realised how silly our question about collecting evidence was.
-
No dulwich central that is not what happened. You asked why One Dulwich were not out collecting evidence of gridlock on EDG (sealioning, by the way) and I replied it was unnecessary because Southwark council's own data showed that to be true already. You then brought up some irrelevant nonsense about 24,000 fewer cars
-
24,000 fewer vehicles per day on East Dulwich Grove? Really now?
-
I'd guess it's because the council have provided the evidence for that themselves
-
Yep, whenever there's a pro LTN cyclist there, the traffic parts like the red sea did for Moses

Of course it's trolling. This thread is about the LTNs in east Dulwich. People who live here (not Malumbu FTAOD) talk about their lived experience of those measures. Malumbu then denies that experience and posts this: "Not really sure why a number of you are going off at a tangent and talking about cycle safety..... The main danger for cyclists is... BLAH BLAH BLAH. " It's disingenuous, rude and very transparent
-
the state of the boundary roads right now is truly terrible. I wouldn't even cycle on them without my children.
-
More trolling from Malumbu . It's perfectly on point to note that the closed roads in east Dulwich do not create a cycle network or route and simply link up one dangerously congested and polluted main road to another. And to point that isn't safe or welcoming for children.
-
I wouldn't let my children cycle through the East Dulwich LTNs, no. Firstly they don't actually go anywhere and secondly at either end of all of them there are now very busy main roads blocked with traffic and angry bus and lorry drivers
-
Not this consultation though. The cycling lobby have put in vast amount of effort to get people from all over London and elsewhere to respond to this consultation favourably. They have gone to great lengths to skew the results their way. Rather farcically someone even managed to get the consultation extended to school children, who were being lectured at in school by pro-LTN campaigners

How will the ULEZ be enforced in ED?
Abe_froeman replied to Sunglasses's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Surely you have a neighbour who will take you there on a cargo bike? -

If you find a route where autopay is not triggered by a camera for a local journey,. it would be best to make sure your sat nav / gps is switched off when using it so that google / waze etc don't tip off TFL by accident to a popular fee free route. -
"I?m genuinely interested in seeing it." Lol More sealioning
