  1. How much should this be please? Last time I went I thought it was about ?2,60 but trainline is suggesting it will be ?3,70. Is that right? I can park my car just outside the congestion zone for less than a return for the time I need to be there.
  2. Rye Lane is squalid now. It wouldn't surprise me if there is a crack/heroin epidemic there. and this, form that letter, is utterly damning for the council "the local police teams, who have in depth knowledge of the area, were not consulted on the changes to Rye Lane in advance"
  3. Unbelievable. Is this East Dulwich's punishment for turning down the CPZ?
  4. The roads are obviously closed. They even have signs at the end of them that say "Road Closed"
  5. Not sure what's more depressing about those pictures, Rockets, the terrible traffic or the fact despite the closed roads and the hundreds of thousands spent on 'improving' the junction for cyclists, the second picture shows an adult cycling along the footpath.
  6. I think it's closed due to running out of money. Last time I walked past it was up for rent from the council...
  7. A Waitrose maybe?
  8. Please can you explain this in more detail: "The Melbourne Grove closure has made it so much easier to get around ED without driving on Lordship Lane, or walking alongside the ever present pollution on the narrow pavements. " I can see that it would male the two or three minute journey between various points on Lordship Lane to East Dulwich Grove a bit easier but then what?
  9. Maybe they belong to people who have been forced to self isolate for the last six months?
  10. Would be interesting to see the last several months data from those monitors near GG school
  11. In about 18 months there will be a ballot that the council won't be able to ignore. 2,200 votes is more than enough to displace all three of the goose green incumbents.
  12. They do, and one of our councillors went back to the officer to find out more: "Posted by jamesmcash May 04, 07:18PM Hi all I have checked and apparently the baseline measurements were carried out from 28th September to 16th October 2015, when there were no road works. ... " Posted by jamesmcash May 16, 04:04PM Hi all Regarding the DV figures - as I have said already, my understanding is that the figures are not from a period when there were road works. If you think that that is untrue then I suggest you lodge a complaint with the council. ..."
  13. Did Helen Hayes really claim that? Things are going to get a lot worse now we're in a second six month long lockdown.
  14. They are putting in some speed humps huggers
  15. I think a lot of people have invested in those large wood burning barbecues that make a very strong smell when they get they get going and for a few hours after. And then when it gets they go inside and light their wood burning stoves.
  16. But your empathising with my comment laying the blame squarely on those who clamoured for a CPZ, some of whom are now parking in the CPZ free streets away from their homes!
  17. I suspect crazy golf is a preferred option because this an be outsourced to generate maximum income for the council for minimum outlay and effort. Tennis courts, petanque courts, bowling greens etc don't generate much income and a third party operator isn't going to rent the space from the council in exchange for trying to turn a profit on them. On that note the adventure playground should be offered to the company running "Go Ape" in Battersea Park.
  18. Surely all theories are invented entirely in someone's own head?
  19. This is also farcical, given what is going on: "Goose Green primary school expressed concern about the effect of the zone on recruitment of staff who wish to drive to their workplace"
  20. Yep, that consultation report shows how the council deliberately sought the views of people who lived outside the consultation zone and who were therefore not automatically sent the consultation pack). "Banners were placed on railings in five locations in East Dulwich and posters placed in notice boards to alert residents and visitors of the parking zone consultation. The council also created posts on social media (Twitter and Facebook) to promote the consultation. I'm not surprised that they did this because that report also shows that 100% of the responses from visitors were in favour of a CPZ.
  21. "the final say is with the residents" Sadly not. Final say is with the council as we saw last time when streets that had asked not to have a CPZ ended up with one.
  22. But you literally just did blame other residents !! "Perhaps experiencing what those of us West of Lordship Lane went through"
  23. Possibly. The residents of Dulwich Village / North Dulwich and Denmark Hill were to blame for your woes when they caved in / begged for a CPZ. The council have very successfully played divide and conquer on the residents to get their pay to park schemes in across the whole borough.
  24. Southwark council are not willing to pay for Boris bikes in this part of the borough
