  1. I got one of Davina Mcall's DVD's and that really helped. Especially good to do when little one's asleep during the day.I also went to aerobics class at the leisure centre at goose green, they have lots of classes during the evening though i guess depends on when your partner gets home. Weightwatchers worked for me, to shift the stone that I couldn't do on my own!
  2. I suppose everyone has their own way of dealing with things like this so do whatever your comftable with, my personal fave suggestion was Posted by: James Yesterday, 03:57PM You could wear a strap-on under your dress and flash it at them as you go by. That should shut them up.
  3. I still think, humour them or just ignore them surely they can't be that offensive can they? The man who works in Le Garage on Whateley Road, leer's at anything in a skirt that walks past, I just ignore him or keep ear phones in then dont even hear what he's saying! I certainly don't lose any sleep over it, sorry if that seems a bit harsh!
  4. I'd just smile back or laugh it off - not worth getting stressed over! Could try looking at it from another view.... at least they are still whistling etc, i'm sure when women get to a certain age they might be greatful to have that attention! Hope that doesn't offend anyone!
  5. My little boy started at Heber last week and after his first morning he informed me that when he was 5 he would like to walk to school on his own, now that he is a big boy! I asked him if he would miss me and he said no! So far so good, just hope the enthusiasm continues!
  6. I think it depends on what time of night it is. Walking along lordship lane I would say would be safer than the back streets, I keep to the main road as much as possible and avoid dark unlit streets if I can. Just be aware of what's going on around you, and dont listen to music/ipods on the back streets so at least you have your senses!
  7. it was open earlier this moring at around 9.30 when i went to weight watchers class
  8. I take my 4 1/2 year old and 14 month old boys and both really enjoy. Probably not great to go when it's raining because it gets busy inside, but my 4 year old loves the outside bit, lots of space to run around, vehicles to drive etc, and he enjoys making things when they have the lego/sticklebricks out, or playdough. My younger one loves the freedom, he can roam around inside and out without me chasing after him, and it's one of the few places i actually get to sit down and drink a coffee, without having to get up and chase one of them. The mums there are really nice. Also has a nice baby corner for babies who aren't on the move yet.
  9. I had a waxing 3 weeks beofore i was due, therapy on Melbourne Grove 0208 693 3773
  10. Perhaps if there aren't enough high end restaurants in the area for people perhaps they should look in another area! I think there are more than enough restaurants to please most people and all budgets. If you want somewhere really high end I suggest you get a taxi into london.
  11. I remember a year or so back they wanted to turn part of it into a pharmacy, which would be one of the chemists where people with drug problems could come and collect their methodone, and it would be open late. Thankfully that was stopped by local people against it, and i'd expect the same sort of response this time around, at least in regards to the pharmacy. Plus how many pharmacies does east dulwich need!
  12. My husband did complain to the barmaid and she just shrugged her shoulders and poured him a fresh one. I think it was more to do with the fact that the barrel had been recently been changed and normally the first pint poured should be thrown (so i'm told!)and they didn't want to lose however much a pint of guiness cost profit! It wasn't the vale either!
  13. I was in one of the local pubs here a few months back with my husband, and he asked for a pint of guiness, the barmaid went to the beer fridge and took out a ready served pint of guiness. My husband looked at her as if she were mad and said he wanted a fresh pint, so she said ok, put the pint back in the fridge. He spoke to someone at the bar and she had tried several times before my hubby to give this pint away, not long after an old guy came in, and he was given it and he actually took it!! It put us off going in there again for sure! What a crap thing to do!
  14. I've never come across a pram that is so wide that is clogs up the entire pavement....... i obviously haven't been out much!!!
  15. remember guys keep your eyes out for the daffodil thieves next time at the park!
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!! I find it hard that you can decide what type of person I am from an opionion i express! I've got more important things in my life to worry about like kids/money/health etc. The next toddle I see picking off a flower for his mum, I will make sure I tell him off for been so naughty!
  17. I can't belive people are getting so hot and bothered about flowers! I agree it's not right to pick flowers, but I certainly wont be losing any sleep over the missing flowers from the park tonight!
  18. maybe some people thought it might be offensive but as the original post was about a dog attack, thought best to try and keep on the subject
  19. I dont think it's fair just to assume all people on this forum are the same or use the term "half caste", I dont know anyone who uses that term anymore.
  20. Why dont people who need to go to various shops on different sides of the road try walking to the crossing at iceland or goose green -it's not a million miles away and if it causes you that much inconvinience why not just go to sainsburys where you can do your shopping in one place without crossing any roads! Also I hate it when I see people pushing prams/ young kids accross the road near somerfields, these kids will grow up thinking it's normal not to use crossings. Some sort of crossing on east dulwich grove/lordship lane would be a good idea.
