  9. We love kids at the cherry tree and always make a fuss. They're part of us aren't they? We have a 'no children' after 7.30pm policy. Has anyone been before 7.30pm when children are permitted and can say The Cherry Tree isn't child friendly? What do you all think about children in pubs at night? A pub is a pub....
  10. @ Grok Happy New Year!!! Did you make it down? It was a fun night and dancing to the wee hours. Just to let you know Grok we have a January sale for you or anyone on the forum. 50% off your food bill when having a meal. Monday to Thursday lunch and dinner. Just mention you read it here and you and your party will get it. @ Catalyst. This is our first ever stinky fried food smell complaint and we are looking into it. Has anyone else smelt this smell?
  11. Thank you all so much for your feedback. It's great to hear that you're enjoying the pub, food and drinks. Someone asked before about what we were doing and promotions. 16. Hi Yes we have promotions on our black boards that change Tonight Tuesday is Burger night with chips a pint or glass of wine for ?10 Monday is Mussels, fries a pint or glass of wine for ?10 Lunch offer Monday to Friday Two courses ?6.95 with Half a beer, wine or soft Three course ?9.95
  17. @ Grok. If you have a Sunday roast and would like some extra veg or roast potatoes just ask and we will give you some more no charge. Or just ask for more veg when you order.... ask for the manager. Three course Sunday lunches are quite popular and just trying to get the balance right. See you soon
  18. @ eliz01 We are genuinely sorry that you felt ripped off for ?6.95 for a small pasta, two scoops of ice cream and the option of wine, beer or a soft. I have't seen a 15 strand pasta go out so I apologise for the mistake. We are very accommodating and kind, we want you to feel satisfied . So next time just tell us there and then and we will fix it for you. Regarding the our house marinated tapanade we are not trying to be fancy, just simple and delicious. The lunch offer is designed for three courses at a really good price. The other day people had our pressed pork, pigeon and prune terrine, sourdough toast and cornichons to start, followed by pasta. Some of them couldn't fit in dessert. Yesterday vegetarian soup was delicious. We've had roast chicken, chorizo, chickpeas and spinach which would be more filling or we can look at more filling vegetarian options. I would suggest going for 3 courses if you have time. Only ?9.95 On our a la carte menu we have tagliatelle with broad beans, runner beans, cavalo nero, a splash of vegetable sock and Ragstone goats cheese if you don't mind spending a bit more. Noted on the burgers and we have already changed the recipe recently to different cuts including chuck, bavette and bone marrow. @ grok. Quite a few people are having three courses including a roast on Sunday. When you order ask for extras and will be happy to do it. Not a problem. Thanks for the feed back. All noted. Just ask and we will fix it for you.
  19. Sorry about the confusion. The lunch offer is on the board and on our menu it says ask for details. 6.95 for two courses 9.95 for three courses With a wine, ale or soft drink @ siousxiesue We've been having vegetarian food on you must have missed it. Today we have vegetarian and meat. If you come in I'm sure it won't be a problem to request vegetarian. Always happy to help. Hopefully see you soon
  20. Thanks Sue. We aren't yet able to update our website from here. However if you called us on 0208 6939285 after 11am we`d be happy to let you know what was on offer that day.
  21. Hi to all the residents in the area. We have just reopened The Cherry Tree on Grove Vale with new owners and management. We only been open a few days but we really feel it really important to meet and support the local community. We have a huge back garden with lots of tables that we can use for a local community fundraising fair or put to good use for a charity. We would need it back by noon as we will be open for business. But if anyone has any ideas for a morning event please send me a PM. Mark See attached photo of garden.
  22. So the tech team have the website back on. It's our initial menu and you might notice slight changes but it will give you an idea of what we do. We will be changing the menu when things are in season or what's good at the moment The lunch offer will only be a one starter, one main and one dessert that we put on that day. I'm sure you'll agree that with a wine, ale or soft it's back to the 80's price wise. 2 courses for ?6.95 3 courses for ?9.95 Monday to Friday 12-3pm Hope to see you soon
  23. Thanks for the really great feedback everyone. It means so much and we really appreciate it. We must say it's been great meeting so many people in the last few days that have been wanting something different. We're pleased to say this, but only after a few days we have many new regulars who we get on really well with. We love the community vibe down here and it's something quite special. Grove Vale is a great place to chat to people that have lived here for years from every background and we like it a alot. Who said Londoners are miserable? I've lived in South London for 25 years! We are looking forward to meeting more of you.
  24. @ Jah - Not sure how long we'll keep the lunch offer on. Maybe for a while, lets just see. We want to give something very tasty at a really good price with a cheeky drink. Two courses for ?6.95 Monday to Friday @ Jonhl There's talk of a really good quiz. We'll keep you all posted.
