Thanks for highlighting Delainie, we all need to be extra careful with current rise in dog theft.

Although the banners on side of playground do say "rules" are for adults to wear face coverings whilst there alongside social distancing. So cornishpasty only commenting on Southwark playground rules. Which I've noticed no one is following

can anyone recommed a local vet in the area (for cats)
d walker replied to hazelnunhead's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I too would highly recommend Ellie of Norwood Rd Vets, she is a real cat expert. The other vets there are also good but Ellie is exceptional. I think Neighbourhood Vet is very expensive hence stopped using them. -
Hi. My sister ( Julie), has a holiday cottage she let's out in a village in the Quantock Hills in Somerset. Give her a call as 1/2 term dates varies around the country. Her tel no -07751 572127.

Towel is good idea, also do you have thick gardening gloves? Also I know you have her litter tray outside, is it worth sprinkling some of her used litter at edge of your garden by pavement so that her scent is on your boundary? You might also find it easier if you do grab her to have second person with her cat basket at the ready so that you don't have to carry her any distance as if she's scared she'll struggle and she'll be difficult to hold. Also tempt her with smelly food? Sardines, tuna? Good luck.

Although Beckenham Place Park's new lake is not dog friendly. I went at weekend and dogs prohibited in lake and to be kept on lead around the lake. However the Ravensborne river does run through the other side park and is lovely and dogs go in there.

Replacement Double Glazed Windows - advice on type of window
d walker replied to Sue's topic in The Lounge
I also have bog standard victorian terrace. I initially was against uPVC windows but having seen my neighbours was impressed. They used Bespoke Windows, so I too used them and replaced all my front windows several years ago ,they're not cheap but IMO excellent quality. They even put in curve at top so the windows look identical to originals. Most people assume my windows are the original as they look same. -
Ellie equally good with cats and dogs, i have both and Ellie excellent with both.
-
I cannot praise Ellie and her team enough at Norwood Rd Vets. She's been excellent with both my dog and cats and having been to other vets in the neighbourhood I wouldn't go anywhere else now.

EDF doesn't permit the sale of animals hence why probably your advert was removed. If you contact an animal rescue they'll find good homes for your kittens.

Apart from the new rules may not allow well behaved dogs walking with their owner to be off lead.

Yes definitely many more dogs now, but mainly by commercial walkers some but not all, in my opinion walk far to many dogs at a time, which is unnerving to both people who don't like dogs and people like myself who want to be able to walk their dog in peace without having packs of dogs running around. Dogs behaviour changes when they get into a large pack.

Good if Southwark council are all for allowing dog training to take place in the parks (as mentioned here by park warden), then could this be taken forward? The Kennel Club do a "good citizen " scheme which gives dog owners understanding of their responsibilities of dog ownership and basic training in dog handling. I do think the majority of dog owners are either responsible or want to be responsible, perhaps people new to dog ownership would really appreciate this? > > I understand it was the Council.

Dog walkers are out walking daily come rain or shine so nununoolio they do in fact keep our parks and cemeteries a safe place to go, often when I'm out if weather is poor it's only dog walkers you see. I agree people need to be responsible and control their dogs and clean up after them, irresponsible dog walkers wont obey rules anyway, so as usual the responsible are penalised for the actions of the minority. If the "flowers could talk", they'd probably also tell you they get trampled on by small children, but we wouldn't then say lets ban small children as majority parents are responsible it's just few irresponsible parents.
