Yes, but we could join up together to be temporarily free. I've been here since 2009 in one guise or another. I've put the pHeasant in the freezer - will defrost Christmas Eve.

I've also been locked in The Lounge - let me out as well.

I have a a Rayburn Nouvelle and a Rangemaster - they cover all my cooking needs. Still use gas when camping.

Thanks for the advice - I sent wife to Waitrose this morning and she saw that they have pheasants there - so I'll get her to go back and get one as I can't be bothered queuing at WR next Saturday morning.
-
My brother is coming to stay for Christmas and says he wants a peasant - I want turkey - might have to get both. Do they have fresh game at WR does anyone know?
-
Mmm - all these things are like Advent Sunday - signifying the onset of the Christmas SEASON, but actual Christmas itself starts at 3pm on Christmas Eve (via R4) when the lone chorister steps forward. Did anyone realise that none of the choristers know who the Choir Master will select for the solo until the moment just before they have step out, when he points at one of them? Apparently this is done to reduce anticipatory nerves.
-
Aside from Advent signifying the onset of the Christmas season I think that Christmas actually starts at 3pm on Christmas Eve (via BBC R4) when the lone chorister steps forward into the nave at King's College, Cambridge and starts the solo first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City'. That is when I sit back, reflect, and have a large JB whiskey. What do other people think? Does Christmas also start at the same time for them?

That's possible suspicious activity paranoia.

Just to say that I'll be doing my new stall (Dulwich Crease) on North Cross Road this Saturday - I'll be selling origami Advent calendars (?7.50) and origami present boxes (?5.75).

Isn't it going to be split into two halls adjoining houses?

Interim appointment: Father Bill Jacob (former Archdeacon of Charing Cross and Rector of St Giles in the Fields). Bit of an academic I think.

yes, those shops on Rye Lane in Peckham do hair braids and dreads and similar hairstyles.
-
Thank you for that advice - the mix of sand/cement - is that 'Roofers' mix' I need to make?

Bob of the Junk emporium is fab - he did my fireplace in the front room for me at a reasonable price and I was pleased with the finished result, though I didn't actually like the fireplace I picked. I burn kiln-dried logs mostly and occasionally house coal.

*Bob* some people say I am your alter ego.

How lovely, a fellow confined person, I had no idea you are also confined. It's quite frustrating as I do have valid local concerns and opinions as I'm sure you do too.

I want to do what local people do - origami shop

I was also thinking of adding Japanese clothes folding as I've seen some Japanese people tend to fold their clothes in a very particular style. -
I noticed the other day that the pointing on my chimney stack needs doing. It doesn't look like too big a job. I've got a long enough ladder to get onto the roof so I was thinking of doing it myself. Has anyone else had experience of pointing? Can it be a DIY job or do I need to call someone proper like Dulwich Construction?

I am no troll despite being confined to the Lounge.

I have two children at private senior school and one at an outstanding state primary as I can't afford to send him to a prep school. I nearly did send the middle one to a state secondary school then decided against it at the last minute. I think a mix of private / state schooling over a 14-year school life cycle is ok.
