  1. I'll be doing a pop up pizza restaurant from my brother's back yard in the summer on CPR - please visit - we'll have space for 7 tables and a wood fired oven.
  2. Hold the pheasant! Some friends have been shooting and given us some goose breasts. Does anyone know how to cook those?
  3. Thank you for that top tip - I shall try when cooking my brother's pheasant.
  4. Ok thanks - should I put it in a pot then put in the oven? Do you mean like a casserole pot?
  5. Come to my local fave - The Castle
  6. Oh ok - so I could just get a bag of Tyrells to serve with the pheasant? I thought game chips were actual chips - thanks for the clarification.
  7. Does anyone know how to make game chips? Are they different from just 'chips'?
  8. Thank you
  9. Do you need tickets to get a seat? I don't want to stand.
  10. Yes, but we could join up together to be temporarily free. I've been here since 2009 in one guise or another. I've put the pHeasant in the freezer - will defrost Christmas Eve.

I've also been locked in The Lounge - let me out as well.
  12. I have a a Rayburn Nouvelle and a Rangemaster - they cover all my cooking needs. Still use gas when camping.
  13. Thanks for the advice - I sent wife to Waitrose this morning and she saw that they have pheasants there - so I'll get her to go back and get one as I can't be bothered queuing at WR next Saturday morning.
  14. My brother is coming to stay for Christmas and says he wants a peasant - I want turkey - might have to get both. Do they have fresh game at WR does anyone know?
  15. Mmm - all these things are like Advent Sunday - signifying the onset of the Christmas SEASON, but actual Christmas itself starts at 3pm on Christmas Eve (via R4) when the lone chorister steps forward. Did anyone realise that none of the choristers know who the Choir Master will select for the solo until the moment just before they have step out, when he points at one of them? Apparently this is done to reduce anticipatory nerves.
  16. Aside from Advent signifying the onset of the Christmas season I think that Christmas actually starts at 3pm on Christmas Eve (via BBC R4) when the lone chorister steps forward into the nave at King's College, Cambridge and starts the solo first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City'. That is when I sit back, reflect, and have a large JB whiskey. What do other people think? Does Christmas also start at the same time for them?

That's possible suspicious activity paranoia.
  18. Just to say that I'll be doing my new stall (Dulwich Crease) on North Cross Road this Saturday - I'll be selling origami Advent calendars (?7.50) and origami present boxes (?5.75).
  19. Isn't it going to be split into two halls adjoining houses?

Interim appointment: Father Bill Jacob (former Archdeacon of Charing Cross and Rector of St Giles in the Fields). Bit of an academic I think.
