  1. Is it too soon to ask a question about Christmas? I was planning to order a Bronze turkey, but friends have suggested trying a pork medallion instead, but I've never one of those before.
  2. Yes definitely, I use under the stairs all the time as my house is three storeys now. Do you want the number of my plumber, he's been doing the bathroom in my house for the past few months - nice neat job, no wonky grouting, and my wife likes it as well.
  3. I'm telling him out by Friday and that this is the last week I'm paying him ?750. The bathroom is looking good though.
  4. I'm going to tell him to finish this week as there is only a bit of tiling left to do. I was worried as I'd seem a roll up mattress and sleeping bag next to his tools and he's always here late at night and early in the morning, but I never hear him leave, and my wife makes him tea in the morning.
  5. No I pay by the week - everything was stripped back bare, so I guess there's quite a lot to do.
  6. I'm worried that my builder is surreptitiously trying to move into my house. He's been doing my new bathroom for 3-months now and its still not finished and he is still here late in the evening when I come back from work, and is here some weekends as well. And all his tools are in one of the spare rooms. What should I do? My wife doesn't seemed bothered and says I'm imagining it.
  7. Chief yummy has said I'm to bring some cheese and biscuits - should I bring robust cheddar and water biscuits or soft French and black pepper Ryvita?
  8. The jeans worked! The yummy mummies have invited me to their book group - they are reading 'Conclave' by Robert Harris. Do I actually need to read the book? Can't I just read a review of it and pretend I've got it on my Kindle or do you have to bring a copy to the group? Shall I bring some wine as well? Do they do anything else at book groups?
  9. I hope the yummies at pick up today like them!
  10. I'm looking so cool walking down LL - definitely on trend now
  11. I'm going to Oliver Bonas now - I hope they still have my size.
  12. Thank you for that reassurance
  13. Sorry - just realised they are actually needlecord not cordrouy - that's a bit different. So are navy blue needlecord jeans ok or not?
  14. No, not Islington, I'm definitely an ED person, both geographically and spiritually.
  15. But I've seen them in Oliver Bonas - is ?120 too much?
  16. Cranes do not require planning permission as they are temporary structures typically erected for 28 days or less - hence the lack of consultation

Please note this Forum is strictly for discussing matters geographically encompassed within ED, so please do not post about Camberwell here, albeit adjacent to ED. Thank you
  18. I want to get some blue corduroy jeans but my wife says they're not very cool - I disagree as I think they're quite hip, so I might get them still anyway. What would others do? I generally like to be on trend.
  19. I'm getting the small loft at the back of my house converted so I can rent it out on Airbnb. The builder says it will cost ?65K if I pay him ?5K cash per week whilst he's doing the work, but that if 'I want to do it the other way' it will be more like ?114K! What does he mean by the 'other way? Also should I just give him a bundle of ?50s each week or should I count it out together with him?

Ok, yes, thanks for this - but can you specifically say where ED ends and PR starts then? That would be helpful for me. Thank you.
  21. Has anybody definitively defined the borders of ED yet? I want to know as I want to 'beat the bounds'on my daily dog walk so can develop a more nuanced sense of place.
  22. I can't wait to receive the Government leaflet so I can put it in the recycling. Somebody down the Gowlett told me there will be no more bubbles in champagne after Brexit.
  23. I was thinking to get a new one from B&Q to replace the old Victorian one - should I do that? Will it affect the house value?
  24. Sorry I forgot to say what I needed to do - there is a door to a room upstairs in my house that sometimes opens but other times won't budge - I presume the wood must be swelling or something. What should I do?
