  1. Thank you for your erstwhile advice - I will take heed - is it the 'budgie smuggler' type Speedos I should wear?
  2. Yes, Mrs Bob is coming along. I've decided to pack one of those types of towels that could be seen either as a bath towel or a beach towel -I should be fine then and Swedish mishaps.

  4. I've been watching Scandi noir sauna scenes in preparation for my trip, but I can't make out if they're using bath or beach towels in the sauna scenes.
  5. Any Scandi fans out there? I'm thinking of going to Sweden soon, so I might be invited to a sauna. I know Swedish people don't tend to wear clothes in the sauna, but I know they use towels - are they bath towels or beach towels? I I don't want to be out of place bringing the wrong sort of towel because I'm English.
  6. Do they do organic pork medallions? I can't get them at F&R or WR.
  7. My understanding is that Victorian houses were originally painted in dark colours.
  8. Yes, but that seems ok doesn't it? She pops up at the weekends after she has sorted the guests out and then I make a big campfire and we have some craft ales from that beer shop on LL, or vintage Herefordshire cider.

Mrs Bob stays at home and looks after the Airbnb guests during the week, and then comes to see me at the weekends.
  10. Camping at the Fort can feel like you're away from everything. I'm planning to stay there again for the whole summer in my caravan whilst I rent my double fronter out on Airbnb in July and August.
  11. Even better - crafting cultured vegan butter! https://fullofplants.com/vegan-cultured-butter/
  12. Yes, it must have been changed from pre-2006 to actual emissions figures.

  14. I have three cars - two run around Citroen C3s for me and my wife and one Volvo V70 estate for family outings and holidays. They are all pre-2006 petrol models, so I thought we'd have to pay the ULEZ - but when I checked they're are all exempt, but the Guardian at the weekend said most 2006 models would be charged. So that's great, I don't need to worry and we can all carry on driving as normal.

Where can you get the vegan craft butter? I presume they use almond or soya butter?
  16. Today I got some nice spring flowers in Waitrose for ?10 and also two bunches of tulips for ?5.

I don't tend to go out of ED much, though I did go to a 50th birthday party just over the hill in Sydenham last Saturday!

I really want some craft butter - are the butters in the General Store and Mons crafted or manufactured butters?

  20. Does the Chesse Block sell craft butter? I just read an article in the Guardian about small batches of craft butter which people spread on artisan bread - it sounds lush - much nicer than that President butter from Normandy.
  21. I take my dog either for a walk on the village green or the Village Hall field.
  22. Eating approx. 80g of porridge oats daily gives you sufficient beta glucans to improve your lipid profile.
  23. In lieu of the PM deferring the Brexit vote we decided to hold a substitute vote in our house instead. I'm a Green Lib Dem so I voted against the deal and voiced support for a People's vote, my wife also voted against the deal and supported a People's vote, as did our three kids. The dog (a small Jack Russell) abstained. Hopefully this helps to clarify things and we can just get on with things now.
  24. Great, thanks for that info re: the food bank in ED on Barry Road. I did a Bing search and only came up with Peckham, so was worried that there was no food bank in ED. I have Windows 10 on my computer as my OS, but I find when I use Google for searching it keeps asking me to install the Google Chrome bowser, but that doesn't seem to work too well with Windows 10, so I just use Microsoft Edge as my bowser and Bing as my search machine.
