  1. I have a contact - will send via PM
  2. Thanks for both your replies, I did some digging online and IF it's for good vehicles only (which is what you describe above) it should say GOODS VEHICLE ONLY on the sign. It doesn't. I was issued with a parking contravention 25. Online it states that if you're loading you have to be with your car at all times - so I'm not sure why these signs are even on the high street when most people are loading/unloading shopping which is not permitted. Lesson learned. Thanks anyway 🙂
  3. Hi there - just wanted to sound everyone out and ask for some advice. I parked on Lordship Lane for 15mins. The street sign permits parking if you're loading for 30mins. I un-loaded and dropped some pieces to the charity shop. Then went to M&S and purchased some items and 'reloaded' my car. On my return the ticket warden was there and said that the ticket couldn't be revoked as he hadn't witnessed loading for the 2mins he was there. I was in the parking spot for 15mins and have the M&S receipt (which the Warden suggested I present if I wanted to dispute the ticket). Another lady/car arrived while I was chatting to the warden - she wanted to park in the same parking spot to buy paint from Leyland which she would then load into her car. He told her not to park there as as she would get a ticket. So my question, has anyone disputed a ticket in similar circumstances and actually won. To be clear I was NOT in a loading bay. I was parked on the side of the street on LL close-ish to ESPH. Street sign says you're allowed to park for loading for 30mins. I parked at 11:20am so it was after the early morning restrictions. Southwark's website does not state that you have to be with your vehicle the entire time if you're loading (as that's obviously impossible). Any thoughts welcome, thanks! A
  4. Hi there My cleaner has cleaned my house for 15yrs+. One of her clients is moving so she has a space that she's trying to fill on Monday afternoon. She is 100% trustworthy and does an excellent job. Please PM me if you're interested and I will send you her number. Thanks!
  5. PM me if you lost a scarf in June.
  6. Pm me if this is yours
  7. I also have a few items which you can have for free - please PM me :)
  8. I don?t know if this is related but a lady found a ginger terrier and is looking for it?s owner. I have contact information. On Underhill (Horniman end) The dog does not look poorly. PM me if you know this dog. Thanks!
  9. I decided against going to the locksmith on MG because the traffic was so bad on LL that it would have doubled my journey time. Very frustrating to know the shop that you need is only a few meters away but because of the road closure my journey time would have doubled (if not more) Had I been able to drive along Melbourne Grove I would have definitely used them, but the idea of sitting in traffic jams to get there. Then sitting in traffic jams to get out again, put me off. I took my business to Herne Hill because it was more convenient for me (though I'm an ED resident). I believe (but am not certain) that the locksmith may have closed now?
  10. This article sums this up for me: https://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/18616846.air-quality-voice-rosamund-kissi-debrah-slams-lee-green-ltn/ Rosamund Kissi-Debrah (whose daughter sadly passed away because of pollution and who is a campaigner for better air quality) is against LTN's because they do not solve the problem. They just move it elsewhere. Photos of Underhill Road yesterday - gridlock in both directions at 5.15pm. ++++++++++++++++++++++ ?I don?t blame people for wanting quieter roads, but they need to understand that they do not have the South Circular in the midst of their neighbourhood. ?People live on these main roads, and it?s the poorer people who live on them. ?Gloating that your children can now go out and play or cycle does not help things. ?Does that mean my children do not deserve to do that? These are questions people need to ask themselves. ?It is as if now that the traffic is not in their neighbourhood, they are not concerned where the traffic was. ?Because when I campaign, I don?t just campaign for my children, I campaign for all children. But some are more equal than others it appears,? she said. The hope for reducing the traffic build up is that drivers will get frustrated and choose another route. ?You can?t just block off roads and give no other alternatives,? she said.
  11. No Raeburn - exactly as Rocket said. LL is standstill traffic EVERY night. I live close-by and can?t really leave my house from about 4pm unless I want to spend an hour in traffic. It?s dreadful. But don?t worry about me because I don?t live in Dulwich Village (who represent the small minority who are genuinely enjoying ?healthy streets?) all the traffic now sits on roads close to me so my kids can inhale everyone?s pollution instead ;-) Oh and forget trying to get to our elderly mother in law in HH - if she falls over she?ll just have to suck it up and wait.
  12. ditto. well done Dougie!
  13. Has anyone else noticed that the current congestion charge zone omits some of the wealthiest areas in london - Chelsea, Knightsbridge etc. Does anyone know if the new proposals now include those neighbourhoods?
  14. sharing this link for anyone who may not have seen it already: https://eastdulwichstreetspace.commonplace.is/ oh and brilliantly yesterday someone threatened me (& my daughter) and threw a glass bottle at me in my car as a direct response to their frustration regarding a traffic jam and un-moving traffic (which we were both caught in). It was at the junction of Barry Road / Underhill. I had actually taken that route to avoid the backed-up traffic on LL. I avoided one traffic-jam only to be stuck in another :(
  15. I haven't been following this thread so apologies if I'm repeating what's already been said. however: 1. drivers not being able to take the most direct route to their destination INCREASES pollution, it doesn't decrease pollution 2. A cabby just told me that the reason the side roads are being blocked is because Sadiq is extending the Ultra-Low Emission Zone up to the North and South Circular boundary in 2021. The mayor can't afford to put cameras on every side road - and therefore is having to push all traffic onto main roads which is where cameras will be placed. 3. A fire engine got trapped by one of the 'covid road blocks' and was unable to get to their destination 4. Paramedics have been unable to get to patients because of the road blocks 5. Wandsworth protested about the road closures and they have been removed. IMO the road blocks don't benefit anyone apart from the coffers in the mayors office. I am pro environment and pro air quality (I think we all are) but I can't fathom how increasing journey times will decrease air pollution.
