We used a waterproof blind to protect our bathroom sash.

I'm all for a CPZ, commuters begin arriving before 7am and use the streets as a park and ride. The adjacent streets with a CPZ have spaces available all day whereas I often spent 20minutes circling the block looking for a space.

If you are bothered by aircraft noise I suggest joining Hacan http://hacan.org.uk . They are fighting for respite periods for SE London like the ones implemented for residents in Kew / Hounslow etc. Londoners should share the noise from Heathrow fairly, at the moment many of us are taking more than our fair share. Please also consider emailing noise@heathrow.com when you are woken / bothered by noise as all complaints are registered and high volumes of complaints from the SE may help the cause.
