Just wanted to get peoples thoughts on how they managed work with childcare/school nursery hours. We ideally would like our son to start at a school nursery in September but as you all know its term time only and then only for 2.5 hrs/day. I will probably be working 3 days per week. What do people generally do? chilminder who drops off and picks-up and then does holiday time care? any other options that I havent thought about such as nurseries that would cover afternoons/holiday times? Any advice appreciated Susan
Beagle I am in the same position and have been looking at project management training such as Prince II but not sure how valuable these are without actual on the job experience. Have you considered this? Sorry for hijacking and thanks for starting the thread Susan
We have Howdens kitchen units (bought through the builder) the entire lot cost ?1k, mind you this was circa 5 years ago but they have lasted well and still look good. The showroom is somewhere near Orpington and is really worth visiting. Totally agree on the larder fridge and not getting the ice maker - steals far too much from from the freezer storage space. We bought our appliances from City Appliances (online) which was much cheaper then buying from J Lewis or similar. The other thing we did which really added storage space was to put floor to ceiling cupboards in a recess down most of one wall. They are flush and are opened by pressing on the door and have been great storage for dishes etc, toys , coats and we even have an office desk in one. If I had the time over again I might put in underfloor heading but our budget didnt stretch it. Hope this helps
Hello just looking for some information on required attendance at nursery state schools, in short is it ok to take holidays during term time? Our little one would be doing either 5 mornings/afternoons a week Thanks
From 18mth our boy has been (for winter months) on vest, pjs and 2.5 tog bag in room heated to 18oc (using oil filled radiator) and its worked for us. His room is the attic conversion which can easly go down to 10/12oC on a cold night. We dont like the heating on at night so the oil filled rad is perfect, its the DeLonghi one, not cheap to but but not expensive to run and has been a lifesaver over 2 winters (and some spring/autumn) nights!
Yes the figures are crazy, I nearly fainted when I got this summary from Goose Green (about 2 weeks ago) 2010 - 1,927 meters 2011 - 3,329 meters 2012 - 1,644 meters 2013 - 459.27m is it possible that this is correct?
Following up on this post, my son is the same age, turning 3 in Dec. Does anyone know if Heber and Goose Green do intakes in January or is it Sept only? Thanks Susan
Anyone stayed in Looe Cornwall? Thinking of going for the first week of Sept. Would people recommend it? Is there much to do with a toddler? Alternatively if there's a nicer/better beach town you would recommend please let me know Many Thanks Susan
