  1. From HH you'd take the bus up Herne Hill to Denmark Hill station and the Overground.
  2. We've also had a magic 5th birthday with Simon from Amigos Magic http://www.amigosmagic.co.uk/children/childrens-shows.html which was also great fun - the hit was the white rabbit from the hat!
  3. We used Little Rascals for our son's 5th birthday - he wanted a Star Wars crossed with Lego Ninja party and these guys did it brilliantly. 2 people meant that no child was left out and the kids had a great time. http://www.littlerascalsparties.co.uk/
  4. A friend living abroad has asked for our help finding a residential sports summer camp for his 10 year old. I've Googled and found options but wondered if any of you had recommendations that your kids had actually done? Many thanks
  5. Are Football Magic and Magic Football the same thing??
  6. My 2 did Magic Football over the xmas holidays and loved. I saw that they did 1:1 coaching. The coaches are great!
  7. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/education/school-sat-tables-results-for-every-london-state-primary-a3421116.html Sure you've seen but this lists out the primary school results out by borough so you can search Lambeth (Herne Hill) and Southwark (East and West Dulwich) - makes it very easy. We're in Herne Hill - got some great local schools. Jessops and Bessemer Grange which are not church schools and Corpus Christi which is catholic. Good luck!
  8. This is the latest primary school SAT results - http://www.standard.co.uk/news/education/school-sat-tables-results-for-every-london-state-primary-a3421116.html -- useful once you start to find the areas that you like. For what it's worth, we're in Herne Hill and love it (moved from East Dulwich) Brockwell Park with the lido is lovely and the velodrome on Burbage Road both great for kids. We like that you can walk/bus easily to the tube in Brixton. For Canary Wharf, its a quick bus ride to Denmark Hill and then the Overground. Kids on our street go to a mix of Bessemer Grange, Corpus Christi (catholic), St Saviours (C of E)and Jessops and Charter for secondary (or private) But the reality is that all the areas you listed are great areas and the only way you'll work out what works for you is to spend a proper amount of time exploring them
  9. Mine love Try Times - lots of 3 year olds there, though it starts coming together I think 4+
  10. I love how brilliant this website is - thanks all! x
  11. http://www.littlerascalsparties.co.uk We had a Star Wars party last month and these guys were great!
  12. South London Dance Studio might have some classes that work http://southlondondancestudios.co.uk/classes/
  13. My little ones (4 and 6) absolutely love this Christmas book - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Christmas-Eve-Mellops-Tomi-Ungerer/dp/0714862509 "Christmas Eve at the Mellops", lovely book.
  14. My son's school has suggested that we find an athletics club for him. They don't have anything like that at his school. He is young (year 2) but loves running and seems very fast. I think he'd really enjoy something like this, does anyone have any local recommendations? Many thanks
  15. Thanks all - appreciated!
  16. Unicorn always has fabulous shows for kids. Saying that the Snowman is a fabulous part of Christmas!
  17. Thinking of a family holiday in France at Easter - any views on which is better for families (we've a 5 and 6 year old) Thank you!
  18. We recently stated at Hotel Villa Emilia http://www.hotelvillaemilia.com/en/#cookies-alert-wrapper Central, v cool, not too ???. Recommended. Lovely roof bar
  19. We did the big top floor of The Lordship pub and had a magic show from Amigos Magic, which was great. The Lordship did all the kids catering which made for a very easy (and noisy) boys birthday party.
  20. Simon from Amigos Magic did my 4 year old son's birthday party this weekend and was better than fantastic! 25 kids (and their parents sat their gasping and laughing)- white rabbits, coins appearing in childrens shoes - just brilliant. We had a mixed group of children from 3 - 7 and they all loved it.
  21. Brixton Rec has a kids pool which they said was 30 degrees (their regular pool marked as 28 degrees)
  22. Our 5 year old boy does weekly classes in Camberwell with Southwark Gymnastics http://southwarkgymnastics.co.uk/ He enjoys a lot and I think it's a great foundation for every kind of other sport
  23. We've been happy with the lessons at Camberwell Leisure Centre.
  24. Have a chat with the fabulous staff at Tales on Moon Lane in Herne Hill - children's book shop of the year - they are so helpful and really know their stuff.
  25. It may be too far away but at the lovely Carnegie Library in Herne Hill (close to Ruskin Park) they do a free Chess Club where they teach and people can play games http://friendsofcarnegielibrary.org.uk/events_activities/chess-club/ It's 2.45pm on a Saturday.
