You have to claim delay repay from Southern if its from ED. Considering for an half hour (up to an hour) delay they pay 25% of the ticket price, which is around ?3 on Oyster is it worth it?

I've been loads of times. Regarding restaurants, apart from the most upmarket restaurants children are welcomed everywhere. How old are your children? (So I can suggest things etc)

Yesterday the trains were awful. No trains from East and North Dulwich yesterday, however there were trains running between Peckham Rye and Tulse Hill on the same piece of track! Southern Website just said trains weren't running: "London Bridge to Crystal Palace via Tulse Hill services will not run. No trains will call at East Dulwich or North Dulwich, passengers may use local buses to connect with other Southern train services."

Suppose its useful if you live on one side of Grove Vale and are classified as South Camberwell!

Only larger Mosques was open, as I am guessing the one in Dulwich is too small to potentially house such an event? I went to East London mosque in Whitechapel yesterday. There was a tour, short film, presentation by the Immam and a Q&A session. Refreshments were also provided, nice cupcakes. Women had to wear a headscarf in the main prayer hall, but everybody was welcome.

Will this make any difference? Yes Southern isn't great but unless they change the infrastructure I can't see a lot happening, except a different sticker on the train. Especially the Peckham - Tulse Hill section. Obviously I hope I am wrong!

Thanks, it could be a copy of the existing New Cross Gate to Sydenham section. That currently has London Bridge trains and the Overground. Charing Cross is an excellent idea too, although it only has six platforms.

Wonder if it would be somehow possible if the Overground could be extended from Peckham to Crystal Palace via ED and Tulse Hill? As it stands now Crystal Palace is a branch of the West Croydon service, so could it go via the above route instead of sectioning off after Sydenham? Brockley/Honor Oak Park would still get the West Croydon service. My 2ps worth... Can't fault it really, got a cab from Holborn to ED last Friday night at 10pm, cost ?20. Was ?35 last time with a Black Cab.

Another 1810 that ran "fast" to West Croydon today, hence the 1828 was rammed! Plus I don't think ED station is safe when the platform is full of people, similar to the issues mentioned in a another thread about Denmark Hill.

Hi, Just wondered if anyone has had any small packages go missing recently. I've ordered several things from Ebay/Amazon etc that come in small packages that fit through the letterbox. They have all been sent first class and always fail to arrive. Luckily the sellers have re-sent them and they have arrived the 2nd time. I am aware it could be the sellers not sending them, but there seems to be a consistent pattern, small untracked items don't arrive! They are all pretty low value items, eg phone chargers/cases etc. I am near ED station. Recorded delivery items always arrive, just wondered if the post-person is pinching them? It's happened about 5 times now, all from different sellers/retailers.

Just walked past and its got Police tape blocking the entrance. Grove Vale has seen a lot of incidents recently!

In the same spot there is currently an ambulance attending to an injured cyclist. Poor soul. Not a great spot today.
