  3. Had a delivery from here this week. Have to say it was excellent. The lamb chops are amazing and huge. Think they lucked out on delivery as the driver went to our neighbours dropped there?s off and then us. Both households very happy...
  4. It may have been a year gap, but they definitely stepped in to counter bid when BH lease was up for renewal. You could also see their plans for the site back in Jan last year https://kei-studios.com/projects/concept-of-cafe-east-dulwich/
  5. Absolutely no way more compensation is coming.. They are inept. Tier 3 regulations allowed businesses to claim a poxy 3k for every 28 days of closure, dependent on rates value. So for the likes of Lordship lane it will be less. Now, we?ve got 5 restaurants, each in a different borough. And you claim via each local authority. It?s a myriad of forms, none are the same and some haven?t even got the forms ready for the November lockdown. As for stock, that?s a killer. If it?s perishable doubly so. We binned or donated thousands of pounds in stock when T3 hit our restaurants last week. We started direct to consumer boxes in May to get revenue. Yesterday?s last minute decision means we?ve got 100k of fish and shellfish arriving for deliveries Mon-Wed, many of which customers are trying to cancel as we speak. Now, suck up the loss, or stick to the T&C and lose a customer for good. The shelters of London will be eating some pretty awesome fish over Xmas. I had cheese ordered from Mon being delivered to my parents, rather than cancel I?ve just redirected to their shop and I?ll just be eating cheese at Xmas!! Restaurants won?t be open until end of Feb in London, we?ve buried ourselves in debt, and will be loading more on to survive Jan/Feb... But, Jeff at friendly Amazon has made 100bn so somethings at least working... Lucky our Chancellor?s negotiating their tax position, not complicated by his wife having a huge investment in an Amazon JV in India...
  6. Good luck! Hope to visit.. Kudos to anyone opening a restaurant under these circumstances.. Onwards and upwards for our industry in 2021
  7. Looks like there might be some movement on this.... Rent will be fairly punchy.. Ivy group have had a look but declined..
  8. Found your bank card on Barry Road
  9. It?s going to be a war of attrition with landlords, who in the main have been taking the piss for too long. Some aren?t, some are brilliant. Across a 5 restaurant estate one landlord came to the table and offered monthly rents at 50% straight away, not to be repaid. One has offered 50% to March 21, but repayable over the lease. One offered 50% for 6 months, but repayable. One is a #### and we were negotiating a rent review and still want to put it from ?110k to ?185k One is up in the air, nothing decided. To be clear, the government is backing CBILS loans, but most will create zombie companies who are so woefully over leveraged that they won?t be able to invest and will inevitably fail. Currently there is no legal recourse on unpaid rent, that expires on June quarter date, it?s going to get messy then. Let?s be honest, there won?t be many takers for empty sites for 6-12 months because of likely restrictions and poor experience. Soho/West end for restaurants is going to be a sh1t show. No theaters, face masks required on transport, people working from home. Shopping will not be an experience worth traveling for, queuing, not trying things on. The footfall and lack of tourist will kill the restaurant trade, unless landlords get to grips with operators on <50% covers and adjust, their capital commitments allowing. The winners will be local restaurants, some local shops and, inevitably the internet. On that note - I bought 3 games for the kids from Just William, yes it cost a few quid more than Amazon, but they delivered the same day and I?m sure my ?s didn?t fly to Ireland and Luxembourg. Amazon pay less it rates for a 270,000 sq ft distn centre in Coventry than we pay for a 2500sq ft restaurant in Soho. That?s an aside but there is no competition with that. I?d assume Just William pay about 10% of that for their little shop...
  10. After much searching and hearing the cat from a distance. 4 houses down the cat was seen locked in a large cage over a fence. Nobody answered the door, but after repeated knocks they were seen letting her go.. All very odd... Home but petrified...
  11. Hi, Our black and white cat has not come home for 24 hours now. She tends to wander the gardens of Barry road/Henslow in the area of the British Legion. If people could check their sheds etc in that area that would be great! Thanks Matt
  12. If anyone is interested Brickhouse did some Instagram posts over a few days on baking a simplified version of their bread..
  13. Next to Hisar.. Where Mon P'tit Chou used to be. I agree, it's pretty good for a bowl of pasta (with or without kids) and a salad etc...
  14. Went direct to Legal and General.... And then added engagement rings, wedding rings, watch etc. Bikes similar... Added to the policy. Hiscox can also be quite good as well... 15. Just reread that you wanted only contents! That is expensive. CONTENTS - ?150,000 = ?87.92 Personal Property away from home to ?2,000 = ?18.75 Pedal Cycles to ?3,500 = ?60.84 Specified Articles of ?13,000 = ?75.13 My expense comes from valuable items and bikes.
  16. 570 all in for building and contents. That has accidental damage on contents and high value items away from the home (rings, watches, bikes etc)
