Southwark Parks restricted access
girlelectric replied to krustyloaf's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
People really should only be using the park for walking/running and not in groups. Everyone would hate an Italy style lockdown but if people continue to congregate in parks as replacement for the pub/cafe, then we'll get a lockdown. The UK was blessed with the most sunniest weather this weekend, which coincided with our first weekend of social distancing. This is going to be a massive shitter for those UK Coronavirus stats in the next few days. -
Great idea :)

Gala festival in Peckham Rye park
girlelectric replied to DoctorM's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
But that?s a city-wide issue, not just in your neighbourhood! Hackney, Tottenham, Brixton... So where is it acceptable for a festival to take place in london? Just looking at posters on my home from work, they seem to be advertising festivals in all corners of London so someone will always be pi$$ed off somewhere. It?s a couple of days a year where people can enjoy a festival atmosphere locally which is a great thing. -
Gala festival in Peckham Rye park
girlelectric replied to DoctorM's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You would think that the people complaining here have never been to an event in London in their lives. So you have never attended Carnival or a festival in Victoria Park/Hyde Park/Blackheath/Brockwell/insert any London Park/outdoor space. You live in Zone 2 London! I think it?s fantastic that we have some great outdoor events closer to home :) My only gripe is that I know friends who live by Victoria Park in east London have been offered free tickets to events via Tower Hamlets council, Southwark step up! -

Keeping a motorcycle secure in ED

Amazing - thanks for your reply :) I'll get in touch with James! -
I have read that there was a scheme where residents in the East Dulwich Ward could apply for Ground Anchors to be installed for free to help prevent theft. Is this scheme still in place? I know it was introduced by James Barber a couple of years back but haven't found any recent information regarding this.

Has La Gaditana opened on North Cross Road yet? -
Perhaps my idea of noise pollution is a bit skewed since I grew up pretty close to Heathrow and have suffered from aircraft noise (inc concorde). I was merely stating that for zone 2 London, the noise around these parts is pretty minimal. Thanks for calling people who don?t share the same opinion as you morons!

Best croissants in East Dulwich
girlelectric replied to Angharad_L's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Aneto on East Dulwich Road do nice chocolate ones... even nicer when they are still warm mmm mmmm. -
I swear to god I live in the most rickety old house with single glazed windows where you can hear everything going on outside and I have never ever been woken up by aircraft noise. Is it really that terrible in ED? I mean for zone 2 London, it?s a pretty peaceful and green area.

?Hola! I am looking for Spanish natives who would perhaps like some help with their English skills in exchange for some help with Spanish. It would be great to meet people locally for a coffee or beer after work :)
