  1. I am not playing your trolling game. I am entitled to my opinions on this. Retail diversity is part of the councils long term plan, don?t take my word for it. Do some research. However, it appears LL is allowed to be overwhelmed by restaurants in this time of high rents and dying diversity. We are in need of many many things locally, and restaurants in my opinion are luxury options, not everyone can afford to have dinner out every night of the week. So more restaurants will only isolate and make our high street less useable for more socio economic groups who need other options. Me trolling???! Seriously??!!! I think you?ll find the internet has a lot to do with the changes on the high street and resulting impossible high rents, out-of-town retail parks also put paid to diversity of shops in towns. Food and drink is cheap to buy and can make a good profit for a cafe/restaraunt/bar. What are we in need of locally that can?t be bought online or elsewhere more cheaply? I?m interested to know what you think that is.
  2. Y A W N On LL there are a few sit down pizza places, a lot of sit down curry places, a decent number of pubs in which you can eat pub food. There?s Thai, tapas, Japanese, burgers, vegetarian, sit down and takeaway Chinese, cafes where you can eat, a place that just sells quiche... I?ve probably missed something out but really, what is your problem Louisa with a new sit down pizza place? Are we not allowed choice in your version of the world? Heaven forfend, there?s more than one chemist, more than one newsagent, card shop, dry cleaner, hairdresser, clothes shops, off-license, bank! Obviously the high street can support these variations of similar outlets. Go and eat where you like and stop judging and moaning and complaining and criticising and being just so B O R I N G
  3. Dulwich woods is full of bluebells at the moment 😊
  4. Probably a new traffic warden. I saw your ticketed car this morning and thought bad luck!
  5. Does anyone know of, or make use of use any local support groups for teenagers with ASD, girls in particular? I have not had any luck with the information that was given to me from Sunshine House when my daughter was diagnosed and the contacts that I have made seem not to be available anymore. I know the term Aspergers is not used anymore but it best describes my daughter, who is 16, it would be great to find a group for like-minded teens or a person that she could talk to. Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated!

  8. They could also do with doing one at about 6-6.30 in the morning - there is a motorbike around that time that tears down the road, wakes me up most weekday mornings. I?d be happy to help, will pm my details.
  9. Have a look here https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/explore-my-options for routes. Her school might be a good place to ask as well, some schools do in-school training.
  10. I invested in a dualit and am very happy. It is quiet and looks great. Also, the element is replaceable should it go wrong.

  15. Have you looked at Forest Schools? I've seen most based in primary schools but might be worth looking into. http://forestschools.com/become-forest-schools-practitioner/
  16. Thanks for all the pointers everyone! We're prepared for an energetic dog but we are aiming to get a puppy from more of a show line rather than pure hunter, though I've heard that that approach won't necessarily work. I've got in touch with a breeder and will talk further with her for more advice.
  17. We are very keen to get one of these dogs and would really appreciate details of potential breeders. Advice also welcome! Many thanks. Julia 07966 332841

    MAC problem

If it was a sugary drink you may have no hope of getting it back 😬
  20. Earlier this evening whilst visiting friends in the road I used to the live, Overhill Road, the water main burst. Stones flying out of the ground and an arc of water threatening to flood one of the houses on the other side of the road. Very quickly lots of people were outside trying to divert the flow and also find out who the owner of a car was that was being pelted by the water, windows smashed and filling up fast. Everyone that pitched in was soaked to their skin from their efforts to stop the flooding, piling up sand and erecting tarpaulins and after the fire brigade turned up we all helped to bail out the neighbours front garden to stop the water entering the house. I think that's pretty neighbourly! Thames water were nowhere to be seen...
  21. I live on Barry Road and could it all, word for word, I was also intrigued by the ?1000 John Lewis vouchers, thought I might follow the noise and buy myself a ticket!!

    Login query

Hi ianr, I mainly like to be kept logged in because it shows posts with new comments. Additionally it's because I haven't reset the password provided and I can never remember it so have to go into my emails to find it. Having to do that every time means it's a bit of a bus! Lazy, I know! It seems to have rectified itself and I'm happy finding myself logged in when I hit the Eda button on my home screen. Thanks for taking the the time to explain.

    Login query

Why do I have to log in every time I visit the forum now? Previously, whenever I visited, I remained logged in. Small problem but a tad annoying!
  24. When I was about four I remember running up to my mum and telling her that I could see the air! I think I'd been staring into the middle distance and the moisture on my eyes was swirling around...
