We used to go to Owen. Lovely guy, my son really liked him.

Young Stars. Saturdays 3pm at Burgess Park. Session always starts with skills and small match at the end. I've been very pleased with the organisation and ended up booking them for an indoor football themed birthday party which was also excellent. Call Eddie on 07976754651

My son went to a football party and the gift was a (copy) of a picture of Pele scoring a famous goal with his signature. He was thrilled with it. Idea could be adapted for almost any theme or latest craze.

Email problem. Tech help/advice needed please.
curlykaren replied to curlykaren's topic in The Lounge
Oh dear, tried that again Loz and it turns out that can't send or receive emails as out of storage space. I have 37,000+ unopened emails. Right, so now I know the problem I just need two weeks of boredom deleting emails to solve it. Thanks Loz. -

Yes, tried that. Same problem. I've never experienced anything like it. So confusing, I'm not really that tech savvy as it is so don't know where to begin. I've emailed Google but no idea if they will get back to me? -
So none of my emails will send (Google mail) and I haven't received any for a number of days. When I try to send they sit in the outbox folder as 'Failed'. I'm told that when someone sends to me it seems like it is successful but doesn't arrive with me. I have several devices syncing to same email, none work. Internet is fine and working as normal. I've put my email address into that website 'haveibeenpwned' to see if I've been hacked but it reckons not. Any ideas to resolve gratefully received?? Cheers K.

Hi Ian, have you lived in Southwark for a long time? If it's over a certain time (sorry not sure at moment but it used to be 6 months) then make sure you have registered on the Housing waiting list. You may get extra points for your health problems so make sure your application has a medical assessment attached to it. Above all, be prepared to make a huge fuss, contact councillors, MP, shelter etc etc. In any dealings you have with Housing department keep a full and accurate record of every tiny thing, always get a receipt for any paperwork you give them. Sorry can't be of more practical help. K.

Dog on dog attack: Dog Kennel Hill Park/Woods.
curlykaren replied to curlykaren's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Reported. They are passing details onto local force to see if it's was reported by owner. However, if you or someone you know lives on dog kennel hill estate please ask around to see if anybody knows the lady with long dark hair with small dark/ tan dog. I'm anxious to know if the dog was OK? Thanks -

Thanks for that info, I've sent a request to join the group. Awful to hear that a dog has been killed in such circumstances, my own dog is also quite small and over the years he has been attacked a few times. It's always under the same circumstances and same type of dog and the owners never want to take responsibility. Shameful. -
If anyone knows (or indeed if you are) the unfortunate lady whose small dog, (a toy Westie I believe), was attacked by the two staffie/bull terrier cross this evening about 7pm in the park next to Sainsburys DKH please be aware that I witnessed the whole appalling incident. I did try to catch up with you but clearly you were in a desperate hurry to get your dog medical help. I have swapped contact details with yet another witness and we also have pic of female owner of the dogs which attacked yours. I cannot imagine how upset you must be, I really hope your dog is OK? To the owner of the two dangerous dogs, your dogs should be on leads and muzzled AT ALL TIMES. They were dangerously out of control, in fact, for a significant portion of the time during which the attack took place it was not even apparent that you were the owner, you appeared to be an uninvolved bystander. Take some bloody responsibility, your behaviour was appalling. I will not hesitate to stand as a witness to the fact that your dogs were dangerously out of control. You should be walking the streets of Dog Kennel Hill Estate trying to find the owner of that poor dog and paying all the vet bills. That is if the dog survived.

Anyone know where I can get a spray tan to tomorrow? Thanks

I took my son for a long weekend as a treat for his 5th birthday. (We were there during late Jan) It was wonderful, almost exactly as you described in your vision. Two years later it remains one of my fondest memories of time spent together. Having said that we have always been very big on this type of activity and he is very used to visiting castles and museums etc.

Thanks. Good to know. -
Gosh, I really identify with a lot said in this thread, having tried mindfulness myself and loved it, I really felt it might be a great tool for my son. He is such a perfectionist and beats himself up over mistakes, lives in fear of being late for anything or not doing homework on time etc. Everything about school stresses him out. I had thought of moving him to see if it made a difference but it's such a big leap. (Of interest.... Everyone who has posted on this thread is talking about a son in the same age range, my boy was 7 last weekend) I can't say that I am all that happy with the school response so far. Does anyone know how to start a child off on mindfulness? Courses? Groups? Could we make our own group and share the cost of a practitioner? It is at least reassuring to know that his behaviour is not all that unusual.

Term-time holidays - where does this stand now?
curlykaren replied to Cora's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The ?60 is not per day. People seem to get permission for term time leave on a regular basis at my sons school. -
