results of consultation show that tiny vocal minority is now big vocal majority

many shops in ED and duliwch village say half thier sales come from outside the area about 50% if access is hard, people stop coming shops close ask cclr rose and Ochere if data in this report is what they heard at teh meeting were local cllrs there? if not why not? https://www.onedulwich.uk/news/does-southwark-really-care-about-the-high-street
-
but councilors should care if local shops say duwlich ltns are threatening thier business? shouldnt they? if not why not?
-
bye bye dulwich shops dont our councilors care about this? https://www.onedulwich.uk/news/does-southwark-really-care-about-the-high-street

a long thread but great taht the protest by older people about the LTN got such a lot of attention
-
@rahrahrah older people -some walking with sticks and in wheelchairs- protested for an hour the big crowd was on the pavement there is peedestrain priority here possibly to use @dulwichcentrals favorite word there was inconvenience because it was a public protest for an hour wich was succesful because weve all been talking about it for hours
-
the protest lasted an hour. photos show crowd was on the pavement this area is a shared space for people on bikes and walking. sometimes cyclists have to wait for pedestgrians. someimtes people walking have to wait for cyclists
-
still confused @rahrahrah photos show people standing around the red concret bollards on the pvaement. they were put there to stop cars mounting the pavement. agree that we need safe cycling for families with cycle lanes but disagree thta junction should be closed 24/7 that just moves traffic on to other roads so that cycling isnt safe for other children
-
dear @rahrahrah not sure your local. if you were, you would know all teh demonstraters are on the pavement. you can see it in the photo.

@dulwichcentral southarks report says traffic down 24k vehicles a day across the area (says 23k on page 2 - not sure whhich is right) https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/improving-our-streets/live-projects/dulwich-review but who knows? no raw data even tho this was promised no traffic data released in august, even though this was promised one dulwcih looked at 1 statistc (cycles up 231% on calton ave) and it wasnt accurate. so we dont have much hope do we? do councillors expect campaign groups to do the traffic counting for the council?
-
@northernmonkey dont agree that closed DV junction much impropved. not good before - council should never hve brought in phased crossing in 2017. but now many older people dont feel safe because cyclists and pedestrains mixed up.
-
thanks for replies about trafic data so am i right that this is all there is? https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/improving-our-streets/live-projects/dulwich-review Because i thought they said there would also be data for June by the end of august and air modeling data
-
have i got this right this is all weve got on traffic data https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/improving-our-streets/live-projects/dulwich-review

@dulwichcentral twitter post

point is @dulwichcentral that the council should talk to local business . it hasnt done this- Why not? meetings a week before the decision dont realy cut it. Shops in DV say they can show effect of ltn (seperate to covid19)
-
anyone know why council still hasnt published air quality data? promised end july.
-
@northernmonkey youre right that no exact date given, but they said twice by the end of teh month (july). central to the whole thing so need teh data
-
wheres the air pollution data we were promsed by the end of july?
-
sorry forgot to say thanks @legalalien. yes this works

That's the only meaningful comparison > that can be made, really. one of teh problems is that southwark has not given raw data or methodogy. so not easy for people to make up thier minds if they agree. you can present fgures in diffrent ways also @tomszekeres dont compare duwlich to other areas unless public trnsport the same. An area wiyth eg a tube cannot be cmpared with dlwich.
