or maybe not school street programme at all. maybe big big increase in Moving pcns becajuse of something else
-
so when Southwark says on p. 4 of the report htat moving traffic pcns increased mostly as result of the scool street programme, that doesnt add up. so increase was result of something else...
-
think your right that people in favour of scool streets. but 26k pcns from school streets in 2019/20 to 139.5K pcns 2023/24 - thats alot of school streets - didnt know so many were put in £2 million spent on LTN Costs (Table 7). Was that from surplus from parking or from scool strrets? Parking Annual Monitoring Report 2023-24

see page 4 of report Southwark says moving traffic pcns increased mostly as result of the scool street programme. Parking Annual Monitoring Report 2023-24 there must be alot of school streets
-
but compare to 2019-20 and its all much much higher. thats the point. pcns now bring in lots of cash
-

local ltns displace traffic onto boundary roads delay buses eg on croxted rd, more traffic + pollution on roads with schools eg east duwlich grove more miles driven delay carers, gps, nurses etc (eg cant go through Dulwich village junction), people who cant cycle (eg elderly or with disabilies) need other ways to travel if roads blocked - but public trnasport not great good for kids on quiet roads, bad for kids on busy roads
-
if its about where they live you can see where supporters come from on thier website https://www.onedulwich.uk/supporters

ltns in dulwich not big success for most people Gabe ed grove and lordship and croxted and south circular now have more traffic. these are roads with schools, shops, GP's, health clinics. bus routes traffic hasnt gone away. just taken from some roads and put on others
