My son goes to SJSC and mistakenly picked up an identical scooter to his. It?s a blue micro one with stickers going down. It was picked up on Monday after he went to the playground after school when his (very unobservant) dad brought it home. I only noticed it yesterday (Friday 30/11/18) when I took it with me at pick up. I?m really sorry if your child is missing it. Let me know if it?s yours and we?ll return it. If anyone has seen a battered but very much loved blue micro scooter then that?s ours! I?ll also send a message to the school in case anyone has asked. Thanks.

Hi, What coins do I need for the lockers in the changing room please? Thanks

Can anyone tell me the best place to get a slice of cake please? My usual cafe of choice has gone downhill. Drastically! My cake of choice is chocolate or a coffee and walnut! All suggestions gratefully received. Am about to go on maternity leave! Thanks 😉

G&T, ice and doughnuts! My perfect night in!

Yep, there was a Gateway where I grew up. I don't remember the cold meats counter but I was only ever sent there to get milk. I used to also get romany creams and devour them in one sitting. You can't get romany creams anywhere now!

Thanks for the info Monkey, you learn something new everyday! 😊

I was annoyed that on trying to top up my oyster card in the local newsagents (I won't say where) they wouldn't accept my Scottish ?10! I explained to the young man, who managed to temporarily stop his phone conversation (that also annoys me but it's another thread), it is legal tender but he said "my boss won't allow it!" Another customer asked me if I was using a euro note! A EURO NOTE!!! I explained it was not foreign money but sterling! Anyway, his boss wasn't there and I had a train to catch so I paid by card! Imagine the uproar if the Scottish refused to accept English money?!

I think the OP is referring to the playground used by the local families by Goose Green, not the playground of an actual school. Hence the reason for no teacher presence. ☺

Has anyone been to The Dead Doll's House in Peckham? It used to be The Clayton Arms.

I think we should stop thinking of The Lounge as a negative space but as a place where one can kick back and relax! It only has negative connotations because that's what Admin would have us believe! Just because it's last on the list on EDF's Home Page doesn't make it less important. People let's give The Lounge a voice, lets make it a cool hang out where all the alternative cats go! Who's with me?

Again ZT you hit the nail on the head. It's a shame this thread turned into something completely different. As a black woman (and I can't speak for all of us, of course) I was not offended by the OP's comments, just concerned that there's a particularly aggressive woman in the neighbourhood. I'm sorry both attacks happened to you swedbuilder! A shame when it gets nasty like this.

Gosh Skin_Deep, what an awful experience to go through. I am in the process of looking at nurseries and your post has filled me with horror. I hope you don't mind if I send you a PM to find out the nurseries. I actually commend you for not naming and shaming! I know all experiences are different but I would have found it hard to maintain any decorum. I am so glad you have found a nanny and wish you all the best. X

Blimey, how awful. Hope you're ok. Yes, I would be very interested to hear what the police had to say about it. All the best.

An update to those who were following the thread. I was rather impressed with the speedy response. Let's hope there's some improvement. Dear Ella, ? Thank you for your email about cleanliness standards at Dulwich Leisure Centre. I am sorry to hear about the ?less than acceptable level of service that you have experienced. ?It is not the level of service that the Council expects or that Fusion aspires to. ? I have looked into the issues raised in your email and on the forum with my colleague Stephen Hopkins. Stephen is responsible for the day to day operations of our contract with Fusion and ?has raised these matters with Luke Fenton, the centre manager, who ?has confirmed that the ?following tasks will be carried out to address the points you have raised. ? ? Nappy bins-?The number of bins have been increased in the family change area. Cleaning standards-Fusion are reviewing their resources for cleaning and are looking at ways to increase staff presence at the busiest times of the centre such as during Swim School and at weekends. Having increased staff presence within the changing rooms will help the cleaning standards and also deal immediately with any issues such as nappies within the shower areas. Fusion have been asked to implement increased staff presence immediately No shoe/blue shoe policy-?This will be reinforced by staff at the centre with immediate effect. The manager will be moving the location of the dispensers so they are in a more prominent position for customers Buggies-?At times buggies have been stored in the changing rooms. Luke will be reviewing the current buggy park to see if the capacity can be increased. ? Stephen will keep a close eye on the centre and my team will be carrying out unannounced spot checks as well as our normal monitoring to ensure the standards improve. Thank you once again for taking the time to contact me. ? If you're unhappy with the complaint response you received, you can contact the Customer Resolution Team at Southwark Council with a summary of your dissatisfaction with the response you received. The review team will then look at how your complaint was dealt with at the initial stage and carry out a further full investigation. Your complaint will be acknowledged within three working days and the team has up to 25 working days to respond to you. In some cases this may take longer and if so you will be informed via post if there are any delays in investigating your complaint. To contact the Customer Resolution Team, [email protected]?or telephone0207 525 0042 ? Yours sincerely, Tara ? Tara Quinn?????? Sports and Leisure Services Manager Sports and Leisure Services Team

The zebra crossing on East Dulwich Road by the little Tescos is not the safest crossing either. -
Oh yuck! I think i'll go elsewhere to continue my swimming lessons!

I have just started swimming lessons at the leisure centre and am slightly disgusted by the conditions. Every Tuesday evening, in the last 5, there has been a dirty nappy left in one of the shower cubicles. It's really disgusting. Plus, despite a clearly labelled sign instructing people to not go poolside in their shoes unless they have them covered, parents picking up their children from swimming appear to deliberately flout this. Because they are only there for 5 minutes or so it's ok? It's arrogant and selfish. The rule is there for a reason. Is this not a health and safety issue to prevent debris from outside eventually getting in the pool? The same pool that their children swim in? Stuff we walk on all day every day - grit, mud, glass, dog muck? I have complained on several occasions but nothing is done about it. The nappy is there, every Tuesday without fail. Are people above using bins? As are the poolside outdoor shoe wearers. It really bugs me. Who else is there to complain to if the staff ignore me?
