Moped crash scams around Barry Road/Underhill/Goodrich
tinyidentity replied to Katie B a's topic in Roads & Transport
This is how the scam works - road rules are that I am at fault, then they ask for cash to settle privately or claim excessive damage and injury from your insurance. I’m just posting here as I hadn’t heard of the scam before but when I did read up, the rider behaved exactly as previous scammers have. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/2dS63qHHV2j241mLGngkZJD/moped-crash-for-cash-scam -
Moped crash scams around Barry Road/Underhill/Goodrich

I had a similar experience with a moped on Landells Road last Thursday 1 August 2024 at 3pm. Portuguese speaking moped driver hit my car while I was pulling out from the kerb. He refused to provide ID or insurance details and when I suggested calling the police he rode off. But then I got a call from McAMS insurance the next day for a claim. I have reported it to police and will be getting front and rear dashcams installed. -

Thanks for the update heartblock - I agree basic life support is so essential- https://www.resus.org.uk/public-resource/how-save-lives-cpr I was driving up Lordship Lane behind the sirens, it was hard to watch the ambulances struggling through the traffic, especially the congestion around goose green roundabout, when every minute counts? -
Got unleaded at BP Forest Hill, in and out in an hour, only got yelled at once? so success!

Has anyone installed solar panels as part of their loft renovations? Looking for practical advice/tips on whether this is worthwhile and possible. Thanks, Clare

Aria came round at short notice Sorting out an emergency situation. Great guy. -
Unfortunately had our bright blue mens Giant hybrid bike stolen from our front garden on Landells Road. This evening around 6pm a young man cut the chain and tried to ride off on my bike and steer his own alongside. I opened the front door and surprised him so he only got away with my bike and not his own. If you saw anything or come across a bright blue Giant bike, let me know. I also have his bike he left behind, do you recognise it? Bike Owners beware!

Would you mind sharing where you found your au pairs? I am looking to find someone to start in September. Thanks in advance!

Little Fingers Montessori, Barry Road reviews?
tinyidentity replied to Mrs Humm's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Also wanted to pitch in and say how great this nursery is. My son was at another local Montessori and we weren't happy. Parveen, Mervin, Gaby and the staff here area all wonderful and have worked with us on dealing with issues that come up with toddlers in a positive way. He's doing so well there and is happy on drop off and pick up every day! -
Honest, hard working, reliable, quality - Done. Also he's a nice guy.
