When I passed by today I noticed there was an advert for staff in the window, so doubt if it's closing any time soon.

The highways people have been amazing. I've just driven past again and it's been reduced to 2 truckloads of logs. The road is now fully open, just some minor sweeping up left to do.

Hi everyone, There is a large tree down in Lordship Lane by Highwood Close. It's completely blocked one side of the road. Police are now directing traffic onto the opposite side of the road in alternate waves. It's likely to take some time to clear it and will cause hold ups later this morning when the traffic builds up. Please avoid!

I agree the amount on the pavements around Friern/Goodrich roads is disgusting. I think I know the person you are referring to. Unfortunately he was in hospital 2 or 3 months ago. A kind neighbour walked his dogs for him and definitely cleared up after them. He is now taking them for short walks again but he is unsteady on his feet and I doubt if he is able to clear up after them.

If you have a water meter installed and then decide to go back to a flat rate system the meter stays in place, but the next occupants of the property don't have a choice they have to use the meter. This might not be attractive to someone considering buying the property.

Looks like new people running it, which is probably why it's being refurbed.

Went past today. It's currently having a new shop front fitted. Whole place is massively improved.

The current building is undeniably too small for modern use and is in poor condition. However It is ideally situated in the centre of East Dulwich. RM have looked at other local buildings but the only one which would have been suitable is an empty warehouse next to the Dulwich Leisure centre and this site has been earmarked for housing. Joining East Dulwich with Peckham is only an option. If it happens staff would have to spend part of their day getting between East Dulwich and Peckham. Following Privatization RM wish to dispose of 400 Delivery offices in an "Asset Sweating" operation. Source - Communication Workers Union.

The minority of irresponsible dog owners who don't clear up their dog's mess give the majority a bad name. I slipped in a pile yesterday and ended up flat on my back. Luckily I didn't hurt myself, but I wasn't amused.

I cut the plug off of any broken appliances and throw the plug away. Saves any chance of someone plugging it in to see if it works.

This stretch of cycle path by the aylsham centre is dangerous. Many pedestrians are unaware that cyclists legally share this path especially when going in the opposite direction to the other traffic. I've seen several near misses there.

Yes Sue you are quite right. The priority at this junction was changed some time ago, probably to stop people speeding down the hill.

I'm not naturally a libdem supporter either, but I still think JB is an excellent councillor who gets my vote every time. You will never agree with everything a politician does whatever party they represent.

Agreed. James Barber is the hardest working councillor I have come across. Don't know how he finds the time to do everything he does.

Hi Snooks. If you live in Lordship lane south of Dulwich Library, there is an unfortunate reason why mail deliveries have been suspended. Suggest you call at the delivery office to collect your mail.

Correct. I have a map which shows the area currently being used as a temporary recreation ground was purchased as an extension to the cemetery.

Completely agree, Vauxhall Cross is dreadful. It was only a few years ago it was totally redesigned, hope it's better this time.
