  1. One of the cars is a minicab. It's currently parked opposite the Clock House.
  2. When went out early this morning there was a burst pipe in Lordship Lane between Goodrich and Crystal Palace Road. Water was flowing down the hill at some speed.
  3. Macutd has a very valid point. There are hardly any public loos. Whilst in no way condoning the perpetrator, It's extremely inconvenient for anyone working outdoors for long periods or anyone with a medical condition. We could certainly do with a loo in Lordship Lane, maybe our councillors could look into it.
  4. There's often loads of copies of the Evening Standard left over in Sainsbury's the next morning if you can't get one tonight.
  5. It was called ossies. Used to go there mid to late 60s.
  6. I've been a blood donor for a long time. I agree with you and I've made the same comment. When I first started going you could just turn up to a session and queue, but now they expect you to make an appointment online. The sessions get booked up weeks or months in advance which I am sure must put some people off. I usually try to get a cancellation appointment by checking the website regularly. Also they have scrapped their mobile vans so most sessions are held in church halls. For information the nearest locations to SE22 are Rye Lane chapel, The salvation army training centre at Denmark Hill and St. Faiths church hall Dulwich. There are many other places if you don't mind travelling. If you work in the West End, there is a permanent centre near Oxford Street which is open 6 days a week and it's very easy to get an appointment, but I appreciate this isn't likely to be convenient for most people in SE22. However do please try to give blood if you are able.
  7. I noticed this morning that someone has moved the barriers so the pavement is now in use. I suspect the builders will put them back again when they return to work on Monday.
  8. Can't they return to using the original car park now that it is no longer required for the temporary classroom block?
  9. I remember going to the carvery there just before it closed down and became the harvester.
  10. Just for info. There are two burst mains on opposite sides of the road outside the Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich village. Have reported to Thames Water. Not causing any traffic problems at the moment, but may get worse later.
  11. It even had an M&S, when M@S only sold clothes. Also Jones and Higgins, co-op. Those were the days!
  12. I have just come past in a bus. The roadworks have now finished and we sailed through.
  13. It was a 'Victor Value' store when I was a youngster. I'm going back a bit though!
  14. It's operated by SainsburyS. It was a condition of them getting planning permission to build their store on a former sports ground. They had to create it and maintain it.
  15. I saw someone mending the one on the left today and someone else using the one on the right, so fingers crossed they are now both working.
  16. Well thought out Sally Eva. I've been wondering myself!
  17. I'm afraid I've given up with their phone line. it's easier to walk down the road and speak with someone face to face. Difficult for anyone with mobility issues though.

    TV

We've been having the same problem. Only affects certain channels.
  19. I've just seen it being loaded onto a truck while Police closed the junction for safety. All clear now apart from some bits of debris.
  20. Originally there was a Woolworths where Foxtons is now, then it became a Jobcentre.
  21. Unfortunately there's a notice on the door now saying the building has been repossessed.
  22. Well spotted flocker spotter.
