  1. Indeed, FO. Derrieres are de rigeur don't you know.
  2. A very wobbly bottom? I beg to differ!
  3. No Woman No Cry - Bob Marley
  4. KRO indeed, LB!
  5. Ferguson took a few seasons at ManU to find the winning formula. I don't suggest that Grant is in the same league as Fergie, but give him more than a few months. From what I saw of his team last night, in particular the first half, he has some decent players to play with. Not literally, of course.
  6. Happy birthday top guy.
  7. Nice to see us score 4 - a rare treat! The Hammers game could be interesting.
  8. Looking like we are in the hat for Round 4.... bad luck Lions.
  9. Hey Karter we know whose side you're on! *bats bhaji back to Karter using nan bread*
  10. I love a bit of romance.
  11. She's feisty, my girlfriend.... Hold on tight to your kebabs, Mr O....!
  12. Mrs Onion may not be on your side in this matter.... ;-)

  14. *flounce* (in a manly way, if that is possible)

  16. You chose to read into something which just isn't there, Silverfox. I repeat, there is nothing wrong in stating the difference in what is being sold. Nothing snobbish or superior about that. Its just a fact. Do you want small independent shops to fail? If you're for another supermarket then that's up to you, but this argument is not just about plastic bags or the price of a bottle of wine or customer loyalty for that matter... You are just trivialising the issue.
  17. Oh get real Silverfox. There's nothing snobbish about explaining that G&B and a major supermarket chain sell different products. G&B is very popular and for good reason. It is a local independent retailer that provides a good service and sells good quality products - just the sort of place which makes ED stand out from the rest, all for very good reasons. The real argument here is about the impact an additional major supermarket chain will have on LL. Sure, the number of estate agents may be an issue, but that wasn't the question, was it? Why not start your own thread up about it?
  18. I would like to see more indie shops on LL and not more supermarkets. Although I do like the quality in Waitrose or M&S, I am happy to forego this if it means greater diversity of choice on the Lane.

Luckily for Dave there are plenty of shops in harmonious East Dulwich to suit everyone's taste.

Never mind LB, there's always next year (or the year after....) ;-)
  23. No problem Tarot. If your CO alarm actuates it would be because the levels of CO are excessive. Definitely call out the gas engineers if you have any gas equipment eg boiler or fire as the cause may well be down to them being faulty. If you call British Gas they will send a qualified gas engineer. I also suggest that as soon as the CO alarm sounds you ventilate the area by opening doors/windows, switch off any gas appliances and leave the immediate area. If the alarm emits an intermittent beep however, then this could be that the battery simply needs replacing and so there is no cause for concern. As soon as a new battery is fitted, the alarm will operate normally again.
  24. A CO alarm detects high levels of carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas that can escape from faulty gas appliances. It is also a product of combustion, so a CO alarm can activate if a fire breaks out, although a proper smoke alarm is still important. I agree with the advice to arrange a home fire safety check with LFB. I am also happy to help out with advice if anyone PMs me (I'm a fireman if you didn't know!).

I wouldn't take that personally, LB - my guess is that the willie drawers of ED are a moralistic bunch and as you drive a 'family' car, they would not wish to cause embarrassment or upset to your little ones. Just wait till you get your mini....
